robthedoc's ek9 turbo, adventures in boost!


I've updated the whp figures after speaking to Aonghus. My maths skills are pretty grim... Trying to pass Maths for Engineers 1&2 as part of my HND is going to be challenging to say the least
 
Haha beautiful south has only just reached the freezing temps. Only about 2days of it mind lol
Mild today, as usual really.
 
So theres something thats always bothered me about my 9 and maybe @LoganK can help as he knows one of the previous owners...

According to the reg docs the car was imported in 2008. Ok fine. But... according to my mate Sam who I got the car off, he found this in the car when he had the interior out it;



And the change from that happy meal...



So the receipt would have me believe that my car was still in Japan in 2012. Or someone went a long ass way for a McDonalds!

I know the car came through Ireland at some point but I don't understand why it would have had the paperwork done in such a way that it would show that it was brought over 2008?

Any ideas?
 
Strange? Maybe it works out cheeper to register them here if its was before 2008-9 or somethin?
 
No idea mate. I always thought it was easier to import a car older than 10 years old.

Orrrr the date on the mcdonalds till was wrong could happen. Thats a weird one tho ring the company that imported it an ask

Ah Fury :mad: . Ah well sure you know the car is good or u wouldn't have put all that money into it :D. Sure what more do u need to know :win:

And its an ek9 hahahaha shes no conversion i wouldnt let it worry you when it was imported. Wait date of import should be on ur log book
 
Im not overly worried mate. The lack of paperwork with the car was reflected in the price... And she's not in bad shape.

Docs say 2008 :lol:
 
Such an awesome car mate! Very well put together. The pull in 5th on low boost is unbelievable! Never been in a car as quick
 
This is what happens when using a white car as a daily in Scotland... Garage being on a farm doesn't help...

I might sell it complete man but it's sounding more like bottom end now I've had a chance to spend a bit of time on it. I'm no really interested so it's either gonna be sold as it is or smashed for parts. Would break well... cheapest set on ebay for the 4 brembo calipers is 500!
