Rich777's B16 engine build

Oh no ! your right Rich , me forgetting about TIR !! :)

Edit: thats me doing runout of brake discs too much lol

Hey, hey ! ! No problem mate :nice:

Are you sure TIR means total indicator reading? In my industry TIR means true in relation. Ie how well its "true" end to end.

Murray

Yeah definate mate, i've double checked. Never mind anyway, i'm in spec either way :nice:

What industry are you in BTW ?

Oil and gas.
As you say its within spec so no point worrying.
Great writeup all the same.

Murray

Rich, Spoke with my auld man last night, he is an oracle of engineering info. I asked him about the divide by two for runout. What you say is correct. The TIR is total indicator reading.
The TIR when not divided by two is just how bent or banana shaped it is. When divided by two its is giving you the reading from the centre line of the crank to the max or min runout.
Yeah if you could get some measurements that be great.

Murray

Thats good to hear man THANK YOU !

You say you'd like more measurement ? I think i've done all the measuring i need at the moment. The next lot will be on the assembly.

Measurement of the manifold..........

looks good rich nice to see progress and nice to see that everything is going smooth no speed bumps so far ..:nice::nice:

The engine will be going to the machine shop in a few weeks :nice: Thanks for the comments guys !!! :))

Nice build, impressive your doing a lot yourself.

We're are you sending the engine for the work?

Thank you, i was suppose to take the lot upto the machine shop this weekend but i have been given a load of tasks i need to attend to. It will either be next week or the week after ;)
