Has anyone replaced these before and are they easy to do?

As i've just had my car serviced at honda they told me that they needed replacing, i just thought that i wouldn't however pay them the £200 they wanted to do the work.

As i thought theses would be easy enough to do, but can anyone give me any handy tips when carring out the work?

pain in the ass, if you do replace them DONT get solid bushings. there are tools available to make the job easier but the tool is expensive also.

which bushes exactly is it?

the RTA bushes as blinx said should not be poly bushed reallt as they are designed to flex a bit as with Hondas this allows the rear toe to change under heavy braking to improve stability

the LCA bushes and upper and lower arm bushes all have to be pressed out and the new ones pressed in, this can require ALOT of force to do, these can be poly bushed if you like although even fresh new stock honda bushes will be better than your current ones as they are bound to be perished/sloppy with age

another option over stock bushes is Mugen bushes, they are made in the same way as stock but are a stiffer rubber so have less give.... i have just fitted Mugen front complience bushes to my EK9 and got it booked in this week to have my Mugen RTA bushes fitted! once i can save up the money i will be rebushing the rest of the suspension with Mugen items :)

rear bushes are not too bad to do just need to take off teh rear arms and have a big vice handy,,

bushes are about £40 a pair form honda

I have got genuine Honda ones, these are the ones that where on the job card. i believe that these the RTA bushes, they are retained by two bolts, these bushes are the ones at the front of the rear wheels and the bushes go though the arms,

I gather they will just knock out, my concern was 'do these need to line up exactly as before as i assume too far to the right or to the left will alter the camber of the rear set up?

I will try and take some pictures of the bushes later and the bushes im replacing so there is no confusion on the matter, just in case my terminology is incorrect!

taking off that thing is a major pain in the ass in my opinion, anyhow i guess everybody has different opinion, maybe im just lazy :)

t_m_evans if you are looking to gain a bit of performance go with the mugen units, if you just want a nice everyday comfortable car, then go with factory honda parts.

I've got honda parts - but what is the benifit of Mugen? why would i get them from? As im in the UK?

I'd be interested in where to get mugen bushings, do they offer a full set?

Are there any companies in fact that would offer a full set of uprated beshings?

when i do them i will take photos as i go to help other maybe it will help!

Mugen bushes are about £850 for a FULL set for the whole car, NOT cheap :(

i got mine from D2M tuning as i was getting a load of OEM honda parts from them too, did me a great deal! can be contacted through the retailer section of Integra Type R Forum

alternatively speak to Bazza on here of vtec direct, he deals with Mugen so can get you them no bother. i have a list with the Mugen part number for EVERY EK9 bush, if wanted i can post them up :)

Hard race also sells hard rubber bushings. Much cheaper than mugen.

dilxelbrake (dixon) on here sells ths mugen bushings drop him a pm

MFactory also sells bushings too :p

The full set just like Mugen .... just NOT £850 Mugen priced :win:

I've done this on my car, Is handy enough if you have a ramp and a press..

Try to get away without touching the rear brake setup so you don't have to bleed it.. other then that its handy enough..
