Replacing aem big brake kit rotors with brembo rotors..need help!


Hey, if you ever need those 12.0" discs for the AEM hat, I can get you a set of blanks for under 200$, shipping would be like 45$ to ya. Tho for an extra 40$, go with curved-vane cause those are the bomb :)
 
I was placing in my storage my old brake setup ( 300mm AEM discs and oem ej9 calipers with their adaptors )
...and did a more careful inspection...

I discovered that the last set of pads was a little bigger on the top of them, which means that they were stood outside the disc ,so they had been uneven wear and create a little lip. :((

When hitting the brakes, pad stepped onto the disk, but the little lip that resulted from the deterioration of the pad tried to follow the perimeter of the disc which were not exactly circular.
This was likely to provoke the most amount of vibration on the brakes,
and maybe not a warping disk!

Their old instructions said that some calipers would and wouldn't work. The ideal caliper for that AEM brake kit was the 96-00 Civic EX/Si front caliper. You are using an EG caliper (92-95 EX). The 90-93 Integra caliper would be better than your EG one.

he was using "EJ" caliper not "EG", also facelift ej9 use the same caliper/262mm setup as the 96-00 civic si.
 
This was slang term dude. When i say EG, i mean 92-95 civic, and EK is 96-00 civic. This is because "EJ" overlapps the two generations, there are those with a 3 digit alphanumeric code that are in both the EG and EK generation.

The 96-00 civic EX caliper was not available before then.
