just wondering if anyone know how easy it is to remove my engine out my ej9 without the use of a ramp, i am a mechanic so could get the use of the garage but would like to do this at home over the weekend so that i can spray the engine bay. can anyone help me out ? :D

engine lift should do the trick if you are not happy with a ramp.
best is to drop it out the bottom, but no ramp right, so the easiest way is no longer.

sorry ill rephrase that dale.. im an apprentice mechanic :).
i think i will probably have to just use the ramp to be honest then put it on a trailer and bring it home to spray the bay, was hoping that there would be a way to do it at home tho without a ramp, thanks anyway :)

Yeah there is....... Use and engine hoist/crane!!!! Or jack the car high enough to drop the engine out the bottom ;)

cheeers jimbo ill get a closer look at the weekend i think, and take the hoist from work and give it a go, cant be that hard :D

No probs, Like tama says an engine crane is the only real way todo it at home failing that get it too the garage to whip it out like you say

aye, al give ti a bash anyway mate, cant reely be too bad lol , if all fails half way threw i will just build it back up and get it done at work :D

pssst, drop it out the bottom of the engine bay. super easy.

this is the best way with no lift, i took an engine out recently from an eg using the "high jack" option and it was handy enough....

I am not a mechanic...n i did it by removing everything i could and using jack stands after jacking it high enough just drop it through the bottom!!! get a crate and put some wheels on it so that u could just slide it out when u drop it...not hard at all

Easy peasy. With 2 of us we got the engine out in under an hour and a half (from start to finish). Took us about the same time to get it back in... Mainly as we had to be sooo carefull after i had resprayed engine and bay. Using a crane is simple using the two recomended balanced points to lift out the block...
