Hey guys was wondering if you could give me advice on taking out my engine as i have never took on a job as big as this.
Basically was wondering is it hard to take the gearbox off or is it simple? Also is there anything that i might come across that i should be worried about i.e vacuum pipes ect.
Sorry if this has been covered before.

Not a difficult engine to remove if you have the right kit

especially an engine hoist as ive done a b16 without and its bloody heavy!

Bitch pin in linkage always annoys me

TBH the hardest bit is disconnecting the wiring loom, some of those connectors can be a right pain.

Yeah i looked in to hiring a hoist. Do you mean the gear linkage?

Yeah im thinking this. Thats what makes it look confusing to me. im hoping to have it out in 2 days that's why i need to know what to look out for. Thanks for your comments.

When doing my engine I found the drive shaft nuts were a nightmare went through two breaker bars and a rachet. Loom was no issue but then agen my head was all ready off. Everytink else is self explanatory

I just pull the wires through the fire wall instead of disconnecting everything from the engine.

Much easier once the engine is out, especially to back on when its out of the car

Im doing that tomorrow. So far i have disconnected Air filter, manifold, radiator, power steering pump, ECU (still need to get the wires through the fire wall) and a few pipes such as the fuel and clutch.

Its going really well a few bolts have been rounded and caused a problem but getting there. To be honest as well i started losing interest in Honda's but since i started doing this its got me back in the mood and im having fun.

I think il upload photo's if anyone is interested.

Just like to thank the guys that posted on this thread. I have never made much time on taking the engine out the car but its done have almost stripped the whole thing as well. So hopefully all the parts will get a new home soon.
