Hey,

Here is my recaro spg story...

Well my car arrived from Japan with a recaro spg seat in VERY VERY bad shape, here are some photos on how it arrived:

Well I took the pillows to the laundry and they came back in perfect shape

I decided to buy the recaro replacement cover, and my internet search began... after searching for almost 1 month there was no luck, I found some seller, and the price for the replacement cover was 280 $ + shipping.

This is a beautiful seat but it was just way to much money, also I'm still waiting for the seller's email telling me when they'll have the cover available, so I decided to fix it my self...

I went to the "tool" shop and bought some cloth tape, I was able to find it in red, after a hour on cutting and putting the tape this was the final result:

The final result was not that good, but it looks way better than before, also keep in mind that with 280 $ you can buy another seat, for example a buddy club seat in good shape. This seat holds you well thats why I like it, specially at the track.

I'm planning on changing the seat in a near future..
:drive:

loooooollll hahaha, you have to do, what you have to do, $280 seems a bit expensive, i would just leave it like that since its a track car, only upgrade, fix what you need :nice:

rvm, you did a good job on yours. You can tell from mine that my Bride was more or less in the same boat. I just ordered some new seat belt loops. The foam I got something cut up to replace it. For $50.00 I can't really complain after putting in just a bit of work. :p

Nice job, I can change the cloth for like 100$, custom made, but they only have black foam color, and the RECARO words had to be hand made, I don't know what to do really :nerv:

keep it and fix it you know it makes sense:nice: the seats are soooo nice and comfortable. on a side note what rails are you using? thanks

I'm using Bride's FG rails for my Recaro Racer and a set of Mugen rails for this Bride.

Lower is better. :p

I don't know the brand, and they don't have any sticker or brand welded in. If you want I can get you some more photos, the rails are basic ones, no slider includedd
