Im removing and replaceing my rear suspensin, on the O/S/R damper the bolt holding it to the arm at the bottom is completly seized in the metal sleeve in the bush, any tips for easy / easier removal without killing the bush ?

Hi
Tho only way I have managed it in the past it to cut the bolt head off and nut/bolt end of other side. Open out fork to seperate parts. New bush required and new nut to go on end of shock bolt.
If you get stuck I have some second hand uprated LCA with bushes fitted.

how much do you want for the LCA's and when can you get them to me for ? i need 2 all the bushes and bolts are knackered and my civic is stuck on the ramp :( need rear arms despratly !!

Get some 'Plus Gas' give it a squirt over a couple of days, then give it some teddy, it will come undone. If not spray some more, have a cuppa, come back to it.

Yhh the plan was to try keep the bushes intact .... That didn't work, both control arms are knackered, I'm gonna burn the rubbers out and go crazy with the air saw tomorrow I think. Cheers for the advice it's always appreciated.

is the bolt snapped? have you tried cleaning the threaded end of the bolt with a wire brush and spraying penitrating oil in around it and the bolt. Sometimes actually tightening the bolt first and then loosening it will work?

I sheared the head off one side and then got the oxyacetalene burner on thye other and came out a treat.

Heads on the bolts were rounded so used irwins bolt grips. The more you turn into the bolt the more it grips :). Best set of sockets ive ever invested in and only about £40 :)

finaly got the sausage out, much sweat penetrating oil and a lot of air sawing!! thanks for all the advice, the uprated LCA are on there way !

thank you for the offer Dunk, ive snapped up bargin closer to home though, would of had them off you just i need my car back on the road by the weekend.
