Hi, could somebody please tell me how you can tell the difference between a 97 sir and a 1.4i. My neighbour got one that was converted from a 1.4i to sir spec. You'd never think it was originally a 1.4i but there's probably people on here that could tell in seconds. :please:
 
The SIR is Japan only so the VIN plate should be in japanese and located near the front grill. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

The engine should be a b16a not b16a2.
 
SIR runs a b16a engine whilst a 1.4i runs somekind of d series, maybe a d14??
 
Probably no abs for a start and interior plastics+dash would be grey in colour rather than black
 
1.4i would have no rear disks d series engine instead of b16a different interior usually aswell i think speedo would also be in kilometers rather than miles in an sir...

Jdm SIR have kilometer clocks. The real give away would be the chassis no.
