Hello guys.

Had my ek9 for just over two years now, covered about 14k miles in that time, but I'm picking up my mk1 MX5 tomorrow as my daily.

Other than the obvious (disconnecting battery, leaving in gear)
What other procedures would you guys recommend for a civic that's going to be parked on a driveway for several months? Is there anything obvious I should be doing?

TIA.

get a cover mabye ? just took my ej9 out of sorn and it was filled with s**t from where it was lying and some of the paint was knackered because of that so id defo get a cover for it.

Thats pretty much it. Don't get a cover for it.

Turn it over every once in a while often and move it every so often as brakes will be liable to stiffen/ seize when unused for a prolonged period of time

Why not get a cover for it? It had crossed my mind but im probably just going to keep washing and waxing it whenever I get the time.

Cheers guys.

Better off cleaning it like you say rather than a cover. Covers just fall to bits after a while and hold water in if it leaks in my experience. These were cheap **** though.

Yep defo get a cover, keeps the paint not fading or prevents rust starting :)

Why not get a cover for it?

The wind, rain and sun will do less damage than the cover to the paint over a short period of time. If the car is clean and kept off the road there should be no problems. Seen a few cars that have been kept under covers for a long time and the paint is awful. All depends on the cover, how its fitted and how good you are at cleaning your car

Covers will damage the paint as they don't allow air to move around the car as it normally would and will gather dust/ water. Car has to be 100% clean or covers will push the "dirt" around the paint. More bad than good.

Would only advise a cover if the conditions where the car is kept are very poor.

i put my dc2 off the road, some little things i did;

tubs of rice inside to absorb the moisture
removed recaros
disconnected battery
on stands and removed wheels
