Problem with lsd

I had the car up on stands today and noticed i can spin either wheel and the other wheel doesnt move. The car has had and engine change but i was assured the original s4c was kept.

After a quick search on here for recognising an lsd/non-lsd box i took out a drive shaft and i can see the end of the other d/s with no obstructions so im sure there is an lsd in there.

I know the previous owner replaced the d/s oil seal and the box whines in 1st-3rd, so im guessing the box was run dry for some time before the seal was replaced. Is it possible this could have fubar'd the lsd?

Thanks,
Dan.

No its fine , helical LSD's are like an normal differential when its in the air like that

while it was on the stands i started it up in first and was still able to stop one wheel rotating quite easily, surely thats not normal?

See its a helical LSD NOT a clutch/plated type LSD , it acts like an open diff. until theres a certain amount of torque difference (wheel slip) between the 2 front wheels.

Took it for a hard drive this morning, did a 5k launch and left two fat black lines on the tarmac and also failed to spin the inside wheel on roundabouts so it seems like the diff is fine.

Thanks for the replies,
Dan.
