I've got for sale a very nice 10th Anniversary edition Mk2 in Innocent Blue Mica.
It comes with:
1.8 engine with 140bhp
6 speed manual gearbox
Limited Slip Differential
Colour matched Mk2 hard top
Blisten shocks
ABS
Electric Windows
Black leather seats with blue suede inserts
Limited edition chrome 15" alloys with decent tyres/tread
Glass soft top with HRW
Decent stereo with USB/AUX/SD slot
MOT until October.
Currently no Tax but can be included for the right price
Recent new calipers with discs/pads all round
New exhaust <1 year ago
The car has colour matched carpets and interior, original MX5 mats, wind blocker, upper and lower front braces, colour matched Nardi steering wheel and gear knob, carbon fibre trimmed dashboard and all the usual extras like stainless scuff boards etc.
It was purchased with just over 120k on the clock with a blown bottom end. I have replaced this with another one with slightly less mileage but while it was apart, the engine was completely stripped with all new seals fitted to the sump and crank (front and rear) along with a new water pump, cambelt and full head gasket set including inlet, exhaust and cam cover gaskets.
While the head was off I took the opportunity to have it skimmed and also replaced the valve stem oil seals and the front cam seals. I also gave the inlet, cam cover and exhaust heat shield a good clean and coat of paint.
This engine has been completely rebuilt and runs perfectly and very quiet.
The bodywork is starting to show a couple of signs of it being 14 years old now. There are a couple of bits of rust starting to come through on the arches and a small bit on the boot lid, but having been underneath it for the last week, the underside and chassis rails all look in very good condition. There's also a small crack on both the front and rear bumpers.
The interior has been given a good valet and has come up really well, the blue carpet offsets the blue suede seat inserts and the carbon surrounds nicely.
I'm 1/2 tempted to hang on to this for the summer and have some fun in it, but could really use the cash to finish the race season off. This would make someone a perfect toy now the weather is starting to get better, and you don't need to worry about anything on the car, it should fly through the MOT come October.
I'm advertising it in a few places for £2500 but as you guys have always been good to me I'll take offers IRO £2300 for this now.
I'll get some pictures up tomorrow when I've given it another good wash and hopefully the sun will be out!
