Description: This is a B16 Inlet manifold which I have cut open and ported then Tig welded up again. I am a time served welder and the weld cast aluminium regularly. I have seen a thread on Honda-tech in which another manifold modified like this gained 6whp on a fairly stock B16.

The welds could be ground down and then the manifold could be painted and nobody would know you had modded your engine :secret::naughty:

This photo shows the porting 90% done. I cleaned it up a bit more after this.

Would you start doing these on an exchange basis?

Would this fit a B16A2?

Same here. In fact depending on how future mods go....im thinking of asking you to do me a B18 inlet :D

Seen this in the flesh and can say hes done a nice job on it/

It would fit.
I am very busy doing a degree as well as working and have pretty much stopped doing private Fab work.

Following some unhelpful and uninformed posts I have taken some closeups to show how the throttle body opening transitions into the plenum.

All I have done is smooth out what Honda put there. I agree it's not 100%. round but will not do any harm.
Any naysayers want to bring a stock manifold to mine and use my Tig welder and die grinder and see if they can do any better?

you could always take it to a lathe man. last time i checked my IM was round. a perfect circle.

It would be near impossible to mount in a lathe. You'd need a huge lathe with about 300mm of clearance over the bed.
A milling machine and a fly cutter would make it perfectly round but would be very difficult to hold. Doing this would make no difference what so ever.

milling machine, yes. didn`t mean to sound like a c**t, but that`s something,if i saw as a buyer would have held me off.

As a x machinist i would suggest being milled. You can not fix this in a lathe.

Just wondered how you cut the opening on the top?

Angle grinder, Dremel?

I used an angle grinder with a really thin disk then cleaned up all they cut edges with a die grinder to prevent contamination before welding it back up.

can i just ask are these your genuine pictures of the work carried out by yourself , or are they example pictures taken from honda techs website?

Any chance you can link to this Honda Tech discussion please? Interested if I can just bolt this on and gain power lol

Cheers
Alex
