Hi guys I got my nine yesterday (see my other threads) and i'm gonna change the plugs and leads on it this week and wondering if anyone knows if i have to use b16b specific parts?

Or can i go to a motor factor and get the plugs and leads for a uk b16?

i have a good friend and euro car parts who can get me decent discount so i'd want to use that if possible,

thanks in advance!

Spark plugs - use NGK BKR7E-11
As for leads- NGK replacement leads or OEM honda leads.

Also Keiran I'd use sim auto above ^

For all your plugs / filters etc. great sellers, good products , quick delivery !

cheers :) iv'e already ordered the bits, mobil1 oil, valvolene flush, hamp shortie, nkg plugs.. should be ok after fingers crossed

It's not recommended to use engine flush is these engines.

Elaborate please, I was told by someone who works with hondas daily to flush it..

I have heard not to use flush aswell, but I think this is personal preference and everyone says different.

Just done a quick search of the forum, apparenlty it wrecks the seals on type r engines,
Apparently the guy who owns spoon openly condemns using engine flushes

So upon Hearing this I'm out lol waste of a few quid but I'm glad I didn't waste my engine!

Big thanks to vtec6000!!

Glad you could use the search function:D Correct, also his opinion was that it could release debris that was stuck in crevices and this debris has the potential of ending up in the oil stream feeding your bearings:shocked:

I think you best go back and tell your mate who works with honda's daily that Tatsuru Ichishima doesn't approve:p

he has a vti and said he done it to his so i'm not sure of the differences if any, he's a decent guy so no qualms with him :)

always been told not to use flushes too but if you ask the million sales guys that call in everyweek telling you these flushes r detergent based and they are way better than the previous sales guys ones!!! They r great and increase fuel economy, prelong engine life...... Its hard to beat regular oil changes!

You say only use mtf. i tried motol 10/40 gearbox and thought it was grand. would you advise going back to MTF?

I haven't used Motul gearbox oil in a Honda so can't comment but I did try other brands over the years and always found Honda MTF to be the best:nice:

so there's no difference in fluids if you have a s4c standard lsd?
any additives etc? thanks and that's a great vid!
