piston rings

i know this is not a mitsubishi site but im looking for piston rings for custom pistons inside an evo engine. the ring we cant get is for an 85mm bore, its a 2mm oil ring with a groove depth of .101 of an inch. if anybody knows anywhere at all that can do this ring would be much appreciated.

I would honestly start by contacting JE or a JE dealer, its not good to use any random piston ring with any piston, the two parts are made to go together, for example you cannot put a Wiseco ring on a JE piston. You can physically put it on but it won't work properly in most cases, just like valve springs and retainers.

yeah i know that. the pistons were custom made so je doesnt supply rings for that size. everyone ive called says they cant do that size, but there are already rings on the pistons so obivously someone has made them just cant find where.

That's strange, my tuner works on A LOT of evo's i can ask him, what bore size is the piston?

Try Total Seal rings I have found them helpfull in the past. Total Seal European distributor

is that not about the size of a b20 one?

total seal doesnt have them, neither does je pistons as its a custom piston they dont supply rings for it

Thats factory bore, whats custom about the piston? Anyhow my tuner is going to see what he can find

they were built by je piston special order. but that was like 3 years ago and we cant find another set of piston rings for it. i can get the top two rings, its the oil ring groove depth thats the problem, its to small and i dont want to have to make the depth bigger on it.
