hey i no its not a lot , but i got 2 points on my licence in or around 2 year ago for speedin . i was just wondering how long do u have them for ,, some people are tellin me 2 year others are sayin 3 and some people told me that you have them for life, which i dont believe !!! :blabla: ,,, im sure people in here have points , so could u please let me no if i will recieve a letter in a post tellin me that they are gone, like the one i got to say i recieved them ,

im from ireland if that makes any difference :thanks:

In England they are on your licsence for 3 years. But I think you have to declare them on your insurance for 5 years for some reason.

In Scotland so dont know if any help

3 Years on your licence record
4 Years before you can apply for a new written licence and not need them on there
5 Years before you dont have to declare them to insurance

Even though I have no points on my licence, nothing to declare - the police can still see my offences right back to the start. Thats what someone will mean by there for life.

You wont get any letters telling you they are off or updating you regarding points on your licence.

I've just ticked over 4 years for my points - is there a point to getting a new paper licence or is it just if you want a fresh one?

use the search function! this has been answered loads of times! hell there's the same thread just below this one if you bothered to look before hand. :blabla:
