Hi all, im about to buy a JDM EP3. The engine is knocking due to oil starvation. Do i:

-buy it with the engine and rebuild it with high comp pistons, rods, bearings and cams or,
-buy it without the engine and buy a second hand used k20a.

Iv heard horror stories about high comp builds not being built properly and don't want the hassle, however if it does pan out to be successfull i know it will be worth the time to do.

Bit unsure, cheers in advance.
 
Do you no what damage is done? If you can get it with the engine for a good price I'd buy it and build it,least you no what uve got u could buy a k20 and it give bother
 
Thats what i was thinking mate, i know the crank is knackered but apparently he whipped the head off and the cams were mint. I can have the engine for an extra £600. Think im going to high comp it, one of the reasons being i seen a tuned K20A2 EP3 beat my mates mapped JDM EP3 before and id shake my head in shame if that happened lol

But yeah would make a good daily and ep3's don't handle as bad as everyone says :)
 
I know mate its hilarious haha!! Yeah i know it'll just be a nice not so raw car to drive :) its absolutely immaculate cant wait to stare at it everyday :)
 
I did iv managed to get it for £550. Im not having the car at a low price if im honest but its an affordable price and will make a nice project over the summer/winter :)
