Guys i want hands on experience of there services?

SKY are wasting my time!

never used virgin but have always used bt, changed over to bt infinity recently and now getting around 70 mbps 100% worth getting!

but together only heard good things about virgin!

Brother has it where he lives in Brum, 100mb speed all day every day. Hasn't had any bother with it, but i believe he is using his own router as the wireless on the virgin one is pants.

Had virgin for the last 3 years tv,phone and internet never had any problems as of yet.

I've been with them for over 3 years now, the only time there was a problem they sent an engineer over the next day. Can't fault them at all!

I'm on BT infinity, I get 50mb currently and 100mb if i want to pay more. But i know a lot of people around me are on sky and have endless amounts of problems

I would personally go for BT but I'm not sure about virgin? It varies on where you live i think

I used to have BT and Virgin craps all over them, I had a lot of issues with BT broadband and their service was terrible, which is what made me leave them in the end. Mind you that was over 3 years ago so things may have changed since then, but Virgin have been great and although I could get a cheaper deal elsewhere I would not leave them unless they really mess up.

We have had virgin over a year now. The router went a bit poo once but they sent a replacement straight away. Sometimes the wireless can be a bit funny with my macbook but perfect with every thing else

It's very good, bought the 20mb line a few years ago and recently went up in speed for free. Now running a stable 63mb!

IMO the router/modem combo is absolute crap!

They used to have modem and router separate, the one problem we had was that the modem packed up, so we were given the new combo foc. I actually connected it to the old router as it provides a little better signal I believe. Maybe it's because it actually has a short aerial unlike the combo with it's built-in aerial. But even the combo wasn't bad tbh. The main difference I noticed compared to BT was that the speed is a lot more stable throughout the day with Virgin, BT was almost unusable during peak times.

They are aware of the hub problem and a new one should be out pretty soonish.

Girlfriends house has BT Infinity... nothing like downloading 4 steam games in 25 minutes :naughty:. Everyones experience varies on area/line/exchange I guess.

I've had most providers and always had bad speed or problems but been with virgin just over a year and always spot on speeds. Router wireless can be a bit funny very occasionally but 99% of the time it's all spot on. Constant speed

Another happy virgin customer here!

Had Virgin 50mb service for 3+ years, always stable with constant bandwidth and reliable latency.

Switched to BT/sky for few months due to house move - it was appalling. The speeds were at best 4mb and even then it fluctuated wildly

Happy to be back on vm 30mb service now.

Just to follow up been consistently receiving 33mb download for a few months now. Once had a problem rang them up and it was fixed within 30mins.

Well happy! So glad I left Sky and went Virgin fibre optics!
