hello guys i got my ek9 other day and im a proud owner :p

anyway the car has 3 gauges fitted

oil pressure - running around 2psi on idle 4 psi normal drive and 6 psi on vtec

water tempture running around 65c normal driving and maxium 85c in traffic

then i have my oil tempture which isnt fitted into the block :S

i can get pics if it helps people but i wanted to ask a few questions before i go fiddling with things

1. i dont know where it fits :D douche i know (sump or somewhere else on the block)

2. second there clearly there must be a standered oil temp switch fitted so if i remove it and fit this one will it bugger up the Ecu running settings ? or will a warning light come on etc ?

the ek had all its work in japan so im not sure why the oil temp switch wasnt plumed into the engine

any help be great pics can be added tomorrow if need

cheers Dez:p

I doubt the oil pressure is that low, its probabley measured in bars. dont disconnect any of the factory sensors you will get in to a whole heap of trouble, use a diffrent sandwich plate or put the sensor in the sump.

oil temp sensor should be fitted in the sump

ill read it tomorrow and look closer to the make and what its measured in i assumed psi

anyway you say it should be fitted in sump does that mean i need a special sump or do i need to modify the sump to the threds size

just checked the car allready has a plate for the oil pressure switch i cant see it very well but i assume theres only one port on it

Also, maybe pointing out the obvious to you but you need to drop the oil before you do this so its a good idea to schedule it around a service

i run my oil temp sender from the sump, can either use an adaptor that screws into where the sump plug goes in, or have a boss welded into the sump.

running a sender on a sandwich plate will just give the temp of the block and not the oil.
