Oil Dip Stick stuck

I never come across this problem before. The Oil dip stick is stuck, it rotates round but I pull it out and I don't want break it. Any tips or tricks to take it out? :confused:

It's a piece of metal, you won't break it.
Pull.

Actually the handle is plastic and that can be broken so not completely metal.


Edit: got it out in end with out breaking my fingers . So my top tip would be to use a thick rag and loop though the dip stick handle to give extra leverage. Seems bit rust was holding it very tight. At least this would help someone who comes arcross the same thing no many how little and silly it seems at the time :p

IIRC, the dipstick can be pulled from lower than the handle?

Surely this should be removed fairly often for you to keep an eye on oil?

There is no other way to remove it than pull It out, it's only a bung

The car was sitting for couple of months on the my driveway so I think that was one of causes.
