Oil Burning Only In Vtec ??


think you would have been better to use cheap ass "mineral oil" for the
break in procedure bud :)
your story sounds something like mine when i done my high comp build on my
ek4 (81.50mm pistons).
my lambada sensor got damp during the build and threw up engine light affter
build,replaced it and was fine.
after breaking mine in with vauxhall mineral oil(approx 2k with 4 oil changes)
i then put in castrol gtx 10/40 (not magnetic!) for a while but noticed mine
was bit smokey on "over-run" sometimes :nono:

now onto 10/40 semi,mine still uses a bit of oil but not too much to concern
me.
the guy "henry roy"(aka the kat) from scotland who mapped my car knows
his hondas and gave me some helpful info on the oils etc,he said the b-series
engines love the castrol gtx(white container) but this oil is not advised if you
are "tracking" your car :drive:
he also mentioned that Honda changed the info in the owners manual after
a few years on the oil consumption figures,people where wondering if engines
where not 100% as some where using more oil than others.
aint bother me if mine uses a bit even after rebuild.....melted my head trying
my best to break engine in best i could !
