It will make much difference if you have the following things upgraded:
- Complete exhaust
- Remappable ECU
- Preferably some headwork and/or other cams
You have to do the following:
- Get a really good map to have it al run properly
Putting ITB's on a stock engine isn't useless but it is a waste of money. It's certainly not the first mod you should do.
Throttle bodies are usually installed when you have a complete built engine. If you have that kind of money to buy a ITB kit,I recommend you instead of buying this kit, you shoulld stroke your motor to a 1800cc
I fitted OBX on mine recently and found a great difference. It's not gonna work well without an ECU and a good map though.
I gained about 5 cars lengths down the 1/4 mile with mine mapped with an S300. It might not sound like much but they're not really meant for drag racing. They gave huge gains in mid-range torque so the car is just wicked on the streets
I have no complaints! OBX are not the best company in the world, but they come with a lifetime warranty so they must be confident with the quality.
Mate has a set on his integra, his car is currently in the hands of ek9Turbo on here getting mapped.........
The OBX are not a straight fit/good fit and require some work, they are basically replicas of the Toda sports injection kit
He had to do some port matching of the inlet manifold on them to remove some nasty casting marks, drill and tap for extra barbed fittigns for the vacuum lines amongst other things, he also make up a custom carbon airbox for them
Any throttle body setup isn't just plug and play, ALL require you to play with the fueling and vacuum systems to plumb in correctly and of course you need a fully mapable ECU to run them properly
I'm going to be running Jenveys later in the year, will be run on a stock B16B block but with a modified head and full uprated valvetrain...........
I'd do what rvm says and get your engine stroked to a 1.8. And later on get those ITB's, but you also need an after market ecu, not some piggyback device like the apexi neo.
