So my engine light came one while driving the Jordan a few days ago. Got it checked by Honda this morning and it seems my o2 sensor needs replacing (code p0131 s1 oxy sensor). I don't fancy buying a second hand sensor and a new oem o2 sensor costs £160/170. I remember reading a thread a while ago in which someone suggested buying a wideband kit instead of buying an new OEM o2 sensor. Would this be the better option? I don't mind spending a little more if a wideband would do my car good.

A wideband is "better" but unless your tuning your car or is already tuned i dont see much point. Plus you would need to wire it in to use it as your primary 02 sensor

I replaced mine a few months back and i struggled finding one for a decent price, in the end up i used an ADL/blueprint one got it for £90 and had no trouble since. I would just get a normal 02 sensor as you just swap it out, plug it in and away you go. Dont even need to clear the codes the light should go out on its own!

Here is the part numbrr if your interesred: ADH27022

Ahh ok, thanks for the info and part number. Anyone else used the blueprint stuff? I know Denso and ngk also sell these. Or do I bite the bullet and go for an OEM one?

No bother mate. One of our local factors is a supplier of denso and i gave them the oem denso sensor part number off the sensor and they couldnt find one.

I have used the adl o2 sensors on 3 of my cars and never had any trouble i never have for any of blueprints partss both on my cars and ones at work for that matter :nice:

as above widebands are awesome but need to be wired into an aftermarket ecu such as hondata s300.

the denso replacement o2 is a good sensor, and you used to be able to find them all over ebay but there dosnt seem to be any at the moment for a b16a2 even in the states.

all i would say is be careful when buying and make sure your new sensor has the same amount of wiring as the one you replace, as my friend bought a lucas 4 wire o2 sensor(cos it was cheeper than honda oem) and his oem 02 was only 3 wire, this resulted in the sensor sending an electrical spike to his ecu and frying his ecu. which was handy for me as at the time i was selling a P28 ECU with a skunk2 chip:clap:

I've used quite a few blue print products, quite happy with them. I had a lot of troubles with O2 sensors but got lucky with a used Teg one for £20.

Thanks for the info guys, you've been great help :nice: funkypower sell an ngk o2 sensor for £ 71, anyone used this?

Received my Denso o2 sensor today..

Does it matter that there are scratches on the tip?

Does anyone know a site where i can order the Honda OEM please ?
thanks a lot !

sorry for the thread revival. I am after a new lambda sensor and been looking at the Denso ones as the OEM ones are well expensive.

ek mo - how have you found the denso one since fitting it? or anyone else that has?
