Nissan Pulsar vzr

I imported 2 VZ-R's and one VZ-R N1 and i can assure you they have nothing on an ek9. I found the N1 a massive let down. The power band is so narrow, it is like the 300rpm just before the rev limit 7800 - 8100 and there is hardly any cam change over kick.
The chassis just felt like a oem Almera with maybe slightly lower firmer suspension.

I think that ek4 civics in comparison with vzrs are much lower in many respects. First chassis rigidity wise and suspension tuning. I can't talk about reliability though. VZR N1 was a much hardcore piece of art comparing to ek9 and a lot faster in straight line as you can see in the video. It was a purpose built though and not a mass production car.

They are not quicker in a straight line than an ek9. The one in the video is quite highly modified and the ek9 is standard. My ek9 was quicker than a VZR N1 over a 1/4 mile:)

The power band is a known problem, the change over is way too far up the rev range...when altered and brought down to 6000 for intake and 6500 for exhaust it's a much better car.

The kick isn't noticeable as they are staggered, where as the B series is both at the same time. On these the intake goes at X rpm the the exhaust at Y...with Nissans R&D they found this to yield the best results.

if the change over is adjusted then they are quicker in a straight line , i have seen one of these in action ( black one in wexford if anyone knows it ) and there no way an ek9 would keep with it in a straight line . as far as i know only the switchover point has been adjusted and the top speed limiter removed .

doubt they would keep up in the bends though , never driven one but they dont look the best shape for handling . as ive shown the best alternative car is the bz-r . the only car better than that is the ek9 so ....

thanks too evryone for your input i am going up to view the car next week so i will let ye know what i find out on viewing. thanks again
