heya guys..

wicked little site you have here! good to find something aint pretty much just at ek9s..will no doubt come in very usefull

well a week ago i won a 97 ek9 on the old jap auctions so im now going through the painfull process of waiting for it to be shipped etc etc

as i said its a 97 model....45000 miles...grade 4..standard apart from the exhaust. theres a bit a scuff on the front bumper but that looks easy enough to sort out. few marks on the auction sheet but being a grade 4 im not overly worried about them.

just cant wait..i have wanted one for so long.
heres the auction pics ---

hi and welcome mate...........nice little pocket rocket you have there :D

Welcome aboard dude. It looks ace. Is it easier/cheaper to import cars from JP yourself, or is it better off to get an importer to do it?. I wouldn't mind importing one myself, but would'nt know where to start.

it will alot of the time cost alot if you go through a car sales/importer who want to make a profit. as they will pass on all the costs plus whatever profit they want to make...im going through AUTOADVAN.CO.UK who only add on something like 250 /200 pound admin fee rather than a large profit margin.

if you do it yourself you may save a few more quid but its just the hassle of dealing with unknown auction house, unkown shipping companys, then dealing with clearly the car and paying all the taxes etc. where as all these companies know the contacts already etc.

id use autoadvan..everyone i know whos importing at the moment is using them. i even know a few car dealers who use them and then put their profit on top etc..so you can tell they arent screwing you over with the final price.

Thanks for the info mate:). Ive had a look on their site in the past and could'nt beleive how cheap their prices were compared to other importers.

Once the car has been shipped over here to they do all the prep work too, i.e. mot etc?

no they have links to people who will do all the work for you though.

not sure how much you know about importing so dont wanna go to deep into it incase you know most of it mate..their site is very good for info on the whole matter though.
if you have a budget in mind you give them the UK landed price you would like to pay, and they work it all out for you so that the bid, shipping and taxes etc are included in that landed price.

they will deal with everything but the registration and MOT etc. alot of their cars are exteremly cheap. one thing you MUST remember is that if the car is younger than 10 years old you will need to have an SVA test.which on the ek9 can be very expensive (i had quotes of around £800-£1000)

although the auction price on the 97 ek9 has gone up lately as people can now avoid the sva test, aparantly the landed price last year was around 4800..its now averaging 5700 odd.

feel free to PM me if i can help with anything else mate..not an expert but have learnt alot myself lately

Welcome mate, when are you going to get the "big photos" ? nice car! :)

well not until they (autoadvan) get the car from the dealer/seller etc.

it was advertised through autoadvan initially from a dealer wanted 7700 landed for it. but it then went to auction where i got it for 5700 landed.
so there were pics that i saw before buying it but i didnt save the bastard things as to be honest i didnt think i would win it..once id won it i went back to download the pics but they had already removed them.lol..bastards!! lol

well finally had some pics through from the docks of the car :D
due to be arriving 29th sept :D

top car mate, got mine thru tony as well but should have bought a 97 instead of a 98 to avoid sva and saving £££s

Costs remaing when landed is:

convert speedo to mph/delimit
rear fog light in cluster
change bulbs
Mot
v55 to register with dvla and fee + road tax
insurance if you havent done already

your a wise man :nice:
