Howdy folks. I currently have a USDM 1996 Civic CX hatch (In Midori Green WOOT!!!) with a USDM B16A2 from a 1999 EM1 Civic Si. My actual plans for this hatch is an EK4 conversion but I want another 96-98 EJ6 hatch for an EK9 conversion.

Unfortunately my poor EJ6 was victim to a ricer owner in it's past and appears to have been wrecked. The car was severely abused and riced out (very bad combo, woulda been nice if it was just riced). It's one hell of a project that is requiring much TLC and a crapload of $$$ that I don't have. It has many damaged/missing parts and there a load of mechanical and cosmetic issues. I have gone through and de-riced it but the project has barely commenced even after having it 8 months. Just the de-ricing has occurred. Now the restoration is next. It's weird talkin about restoring a car from 96 but I am indeed restoring it or at least trying.

As it is right now:
1996 Honda Civic CX
Midori Green Pearl
B16A2 Swap
AEM SRI
Exedy Stage 1 Organic Racing Clutch
Clutch Masters 7lb Aluminum Flywheel
Custom Exhaust Pipe with no name eBay fart can
H&R OE Sport Springs
Password JDM Yellow Square Fog lights
99-00 Taillights
EK9 Style headlights (in very poor condition)
Mugen Style Carbon Fiber Lip
USDM EJ8 Manual Gauge Cluster with amber backlights
1997 DC2 Integra GS-R Mesh Wheels

Here's my most recent pic taken at Import Alliance 2007. The guy with the DA next to mine has a ton of rolling shots of my car on the way to IA but I have to get them from him.

yay techy is here!!! your car sits pretty low for H&R sports :nice: its looking good, you can polish the grime off those headlights too and it will make a world of difference.

You have no idea what I did to headlights to make them look that good.

omg! they must have been god awful before then, you can always score a set of fake's off ebay for like $70

Here's an old pic when the thing still had the god awful Wings West side skirts (not my choice, they were with the car when I got it). Thank you lord I have OEM skirts now.

This pic ought to give you a good idea of just how crappy my head lights were before I worked on em.

like I said, the one of just my car is from before I did the headlight "restoration". They still look like ass but way better than they did. I may just drop $330 on a set of new authentic SiR headlights from PasswordJDM in the near future.

Welcome to the site!
Nice car, except for the sidemarkers. Maybe SiR headlights would set them off.
I'm sure you've learned the hard way already, whatever headlights you get just get OEM.

well blinx let's see. You know me, perpetually broke. SiR....$330. Type R....$500.

Yeah, I'm stickin to SiR for now.

I don't normally like to mention the sidemarkers. There was already a set on it when I got the car. To my horror, they were APC. Unfortunately, they are the only ones that fit and the ones that were there were messed up. I had to replace them with more APC Sidemarkers. The cover on one has already fallen off. I plan on ordering a set of fenders a new front bumper in the near future and paint them. Whether I go JDM or not on the fenders, I don't know yet.

My hatch on it is damaged too. Apparently the previous owner was at a party or something and someone backed into it and didn't own up to it and drove off. So I have duct tape on it and a replacement hatch in the garage. I need to get it painted and installed and I'll be relatively good.

you can find a clean set of used type r headlights for 350, whats the difference between sir and us spec 96-98 headlights anyway?

SiR solid chrome, city light socket, no diffuser, no amber reflector, other little style differences.

He's probably referring to a clear portion of the lense as opposed to one that rippled on the inside to diffuse light.

I didn't mean diffuser. I forget what it's called but it's that cover that goes over the bulb in the USDM spec headlight housings. The JDM ones lack that piece.

Well to be honest, I'm not sure if the SiR has that piece or not but I know Type-R's don't for sure.

would that not reduce light output? since its not shining it back into the housing?

beatiful car mate! congratulations!

And like I said earlier, my friend had some rolling shots of my car. Here they are.
