Hi all, new EK9 owner here in the US. Possibly one of the first ones state side but not sure. Car will be somewhat of a project being that there are several EK9 specific parts the car is missing. Definitely going to need some help identifying some things that are original.

Welcome , I've heard EK9 parts are hard to find in the U.S? There are a few EK9's being broke for parts in the UK.

Thanks! From what I've searched for so far yes, it's not going to be easy getting everything I need to get back to OEM. Are they at a salvage yard or private owner?

Welcome! Can imagine a genuine Ek9 will be an extremely valuable commodity in the states! As others have stated eBay UK often has a few OEM Ek9 specific parts available (there are/were many ek9s imported to the UK) you could also try some UK honda parts pages on Facebook. However, it can be difficult getting folk on there to post parts nationally let alone internationally.

Best of luck and welcome to the forum! :nice:

Thanks for all the kind responses! I'll have to definitely check out ebay UK. Couple quick questions regarding my car, what is the factory ECU that's supposed to be in an EK9? And I realized the car doesn't have a pigtail at all for the Vtec oil pressure switch, is this normal? Nevertheless, the car runs great and crosses over vtec very strong.

Welcome, and congrats! You will find this forum to be quite welcoming and informative. It is truly a great community, and a great asset and resource as well.

There are a few EK9s within the States that have been here for a while. I knew of at least four from back in 2010-2015. I've been out of touch and haven't kept tabs since then really. Still quite rare though. And parts definitely are difficult to find here. H-motors online and ICB Motorsports are the main parts sources but still they are fairly limited. The UK and Japan are usually your best bets.

Also, JDM ECUs do not monitor the Vtec oil pressure, so no harness for it is normal. ECU part numbers will vary depending on the year and specifics.

Btw, the resource area here is a great source, this thread has a lot of the OEM part numbers for more common parts:

Another great resource for part numbers is jp-carparts.com. I use them to look up part numbers then cross reference/search with USDM Honda websites. Here's their Civic 3 door hatchback list: https://jp-carparts.com/honda/cartypelist.php?maker=honda&type=CIVIC 3D

Always check multiple sources before ordering parts, especially new OEM Honda parts. Even when US Honda dealers have the parts they are often times more expensive than getting them shipped from the UK or Japan.

What year is yours? And what parts are you needing? Photos would be great as well.

Super helpful, thank you. Looking at part pricing and availability in the UK vs the US, I’m planning to get as much as I can done on my car before it ships out of the UK in 2025.

You're welcome. And great plan on getting things sorted and done while it's in the UK too.
