hi ppl , after my last intake mod - OEM ITR box - decide to take my OEM EK airbox and try to make some upgrade , and maybe help who likes OEM look.

Have this idea :

Use the original resonator to air box , doing the some cut and joining ( original idea from user OveRReV - http://www.ek9.org/forum/air-intake-exhaust/5111-airbox-modification-3.html) :

And here´s my doubts -

Will i benefit more using a bigger/velocity stack or OEM one will do the job?

Should i point the velocity stack to the front or leave it like the photo?

I have a Pre-facelift so i dont have any air passage source from the bumper , my original idea is to catch fresh air , going the more stealth possible.

I´m gonna do some port inside the air box where the rubber pipe connects , trying to do some secondary velocity stack shape . What do you think of that?

I just have Decat , Spoon B-pipe , EK9 OEM backbox , Spoon TB , Port and polish head , I thing this mod will be enough to my setup.

Need your opinion and knowledge to do this DIY.

Many thx to all.

Sorry I didn't reply to your pm been so busy.
^ yep that's literally how I did my air box, I used the dc2 resonator and air box same principle. Works great without spending loads of cash and time.

Sorry about the delay, just uploaded the pictures for you.

Compared to another OEM DC2 resonator, did exactly the same to this resonator aswell.

Done this years ago with my first DC2 as bit of an experiment really. Guess its a free little mod, much better than messing about with cold air duct piping into the airbox.
Plus you can retain the oem brackets so it doesn't move about, look how i cut it.
Car felt sharper and more responsive.

Got the same set up on my EK4 daily along with DC2 airbox and intake pipe, works great!

Another question , Can you tell me if the Dc2 resonator pipe is the same or close to the EK4 stock one? ( diameter- inside)
