Need more power

Drove home from work today and a 94 saloon vti over took me, so I said I'd see what it has. I caught up to him but I did'nt catch up as fast as I'd like to. My 9 is getting a well due service next week, but I've been thinking about about bringing up the bhp with a decat, j'racing induction kit and maybe a backbox. Would that make much of a difference. Any advice would be great.
 
Id suggest checking your Defo running a B16b to get overtaken by a b16a haha. Nah but seriously...


...How fast were you going? how fast was he going? What gear were you in when you floored it to catch up with him? was he already going 150mph and you were going 30 hen he overtook you? coz thatd take a while to catch up with
 
Was it a blue vti saloon with black rota wheels by any chance?
 
Lol na I'm running a B16b mate. Ya i was taking it easy when he overtook me, i poped it into third and put my foot to the floor. I was only doing about 45mph and he must of being doing 60mph. I just thought I'd catch him quicker.

I fitted a b18c+4.7 fd gearbox into a blue 94reg vti saloon for a guy in Galway. Quick car so if it was that then no wonder you couldn't catch up lol.
 
That vti would probably wipe an ek9 off the road but a standard 1.6 vti would'nt beat an ek9
