Hi guys,

im after the name of the bracket/clamp that the front suspension shock sits in, and then bolts onto the lower arm below. it's the upside down 'Y' shaped bracket.

Mine has unfortunately threaded internally, and as such im struggling to tighten it up to hold the shock where i want it (its sitting down and ending up too low).
if you guys can let me know the name that'd help alot, then i can get hold of some people breaking an ek9, ek4 or dc2 (if its the same) and get a replacement.

cheers

There's the pics guys, thats the bracket i need :)

yup, those are shock forks and are ek9 specific but will be the same for any civic that uses the same 26mm front sway bar as the ek9, like in USA that would be our EM1 99 civic Si.

oh right so they are ek9 specific then? why is that?

i can arrange postage cheap mate, where are you located? how much do you want for them? are they ek9 models, and do they have the bolts with them also? :)

pm me mate

ill have a look to see if still have a pair of ek9, just make me offer, can post or you arrange, either fine with me

I don't think the forks are you problem, i think its install (no offense), these parts can get old over time and hard to work with, the way i install mine is to get two threads of the bolt in, then i push the fork up as high as it will go, then i hammer underneath it to get it all the way up, then i tighten the bolt :nice:

um, no the install is fine mate. the person who fitted the suspension previously (a friend of mine) has threaded the bolt/internal nut of the bracket, meaning it physically wont tighten any further. the bolt is probably reusable, but the threads in the bracket are gone and wont tighten enough to clamp the shock in place. thus, i need another one that has usable threads ;)

you shouldnt need a hammer if it all moves freely, just a bit of weight on the hub to move it where you want it. the offside one is fine, as the threads are ok, its the nearside (i.e passenger side) thats now threaded. We've nut and bolted it to get it moving as a temp fix to clamp the shock in place (and would probably last forever), but i'd rather get a new fork in there just so i know its all fine :)

i'll post in the wanted section and message people breaking some ek9's to get a new one :)
