My Winter Project - So far :)

Thought id start a thread on what iv been up to over the winter period and still on going,

Decided last year that id fully re bush the car, change engine mounts and sort other bits that have been bugging me, anyway ill let the pics do the talking. Some of the pics aint the best as i just used the i phone as i was going along.

Started off my taken the front suspension off

As you can see it looks a mess so took it into my work and blasted all the arms

I then pressed the old bushes out and installed the new ones, painted the arms up

i also took the drivershafts out and split the cv joints to change the cv boots and inspect them, i dont have any pics of me doing this apart from this pic

Also decided i wanted to change the front wheel bearings - new ones ready to go in

While i was doing this i got a delivery - Innovative engine mounts 60A Road bushes

Can barley make out the rear mount but what a pain that was to do :x

I also got my self a baffled sump

Then it was time to re bush the gear linkage and de-rust and re paint

I also decided i wanted a brake upgrade so i got some twin pot accord type r calipers and 300 slotted disks, blasted these and painted them up

Once the new engine mounts were installed and the sump was back on i took the front bumper off and decided look for any rust and get rid of any and protect it all. I didnt get before pics but this is how it looks now

I then put all the suspension parts back on and installed the brakes

Also while the gearlinkage was off i de rusted any rust and undersealed everything i could, unfortunately i didnt get pics as i just wanted it done was getting cold haha.

So thats the front end now completely finished

I had a spare rocker cover so decided to paint this the same colour as the wheels

Will update this as i go but i have a slight problem with the rear bushes as i was sent the wrong ones so having to wait for the new ones to arrive before i can begine with that.

Thanks, iv driven the car in my street and so far they feel really good, very responsive but they need bed in properly so i can imagine they will get better

looks great I wouldn't want to drive it after that will be doing the same sort of thing soon but over the summer. Was doing more engine work but after looking at how clean all your suspension parts and drive shafts ect look I think I might just do that to looks sweet

time for an update on what iv been up to,

iv fitted/done the following

- re bushed rear suspension
- blasted and re painted suspension arms
- fitted ds2500 brake pads
- fitted tanabe coilovers
- fitted janspeed backbox (spoon n1 tip)
- fitted ITG carbon airfilter
- rust treated the whole underside of the car

Im still waiting on some HEL brake lines and rbf600 brake fluid,

And finally how she looks ready for her mot tomorrow and ring trip end of may
