Hey guys,

Last winter my EK3 was written off after being rear ended by another car so I was looking for a new winter car. I have had a few japanese cars and so had my dad and neither of us has had any issues with them (which is not going to surprise any of us of course!) so I thought I might stick with japanese and I started looking for a nice wee Vitara which is a car my gf always wanted or perhaps scooby wagon... Well, I was rather unsuccessful, there were not many available around and those that were available were usually in terrible condition, overpriced or both. So after much searching I came across a completely different car that wasn't a 4x4 but ticked all other boxes - japanese, sporty looking, practical and not a sloth either - 2003 Mazda 323F 2.0 Sport. I just had to get 2 new tyres and there is a bit of rust on rear arches which does not bother me much - it is a work horse not a show car.
And it only cost me £900 which I thought was a fair price plus it is only insurance group 10 which is not bad either!

Looks good. Looks like a lot of car for the money :nice:

Nice buy mate. There's a few of them kicking about here; they look like proper mint wee cars :)

I had a look at these, they seemed to be very slow and underpowered for the size of engine. What are they like in the real world?
Even so for £900 you defo can't complain! :woot:

To be honest it is not bad at all, the engine obviously lacks the punch of VTEC but is lot more torquey and the car is by no means slow. I was also surprised how well it handles, it is of course nowhere near as good as the 9 but more than adequate for a daily runaround! The biggest downside is the fuel consumption which is not impressive but that might also be caused by my moderately heavy right foot :D
