My New Mugens!!

Colour of them really suits the car. Bronze wouldnt suit a silver ek9... Nice find...

My second post in this thread, those wheels are still awsome! When you get your new tires, you will want a 205/45-16 for best results. (good width, almost perfect match to stock overall diameter)

A 195/40 16 side wall will be too small and it will change your gearing too much. If you do get a 195 width tire, which I don't recommend because a 205 is better and wider, you should get a 195/50 for best fitment to stock. You should get a 205/45 16, because this size is very close to stock and its a 205 width instead of a 195. The overall goal of tire sizing for the street is to get tires that give you the same overall tire diameter as stock so you don't change your final drive ratio. I use this tire size calculator, with 195/55 15 being the baseline- http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I've used toyo t1 r's before and the side wall isn't very reinforced (1 polyester ply vs. other tires with 2) so they had mushy response, but they were alright for grip. I would choose the Goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 in 205/45 if you like the toyo t1-r, the eagle f1 is a much better tire. If you want something a little stickier than the goodyear you could try the kuhmo MX (220 wear rating). If you want some rainworthyness along with a maximum amount of grip try the hankook ventus RS-2 (200 wear rating) If you want maximum grip from a street tire you could try the Falken azenis rt-615 but they aren't good for standing water (also 200 wear rating) Wear ratings are a loose number giving you a good idea how long a tire will last, the lower the # the softer the tire. You're going to want less than 300 for a tire with good grip.

Whatever size tyre you get, I'd recommend toyo denward, savage tyre! By them online at www.camskill.co.uk. They ship to ireland and have a great service!

cheers for that Dino very helpful:woot:

Denward, I've done a LOT of tire reasearch lately and maybe I could go into this further if you want me to recommend some tires.
What is important to you- maximum dry grip, good dry grip along with good wet grip, hydroplaning resistance, price, tire weight (should not be too much of a factor) street and track compatible tire, and handling response and sharpness.
Also, all good tires will have a temperature rating of A (A being highest, B, C -lower) but the traction rating is a measure of the tires ability to stop on a wet road, which is important in Ireland I assume. Some tires will have an AA rating, which is best while others will have just an A rating. The difference is marginal but its something to consider.

Hi
Get the 205/45 as they have about the same rolling radius as standard 195/55/15. I have them on my car and they are fine, they dont rub at all and protect my mf10's a little from kerbing.

Looks ace man:nice: How much is it lowered by, and what suspension setup?

Don't like the wheels, should spray them white like the ones at the top of the page - would looking amazing - silver looks tachy :( n as already said it needs the stickers back on it.
