This is my Honda Civic 1.4 16v Tornado. I picked the car up last Saturday, I've been in love with Hondas' for a long time now and now I have my own. Without further adue here she is...

My girl is currently 99.9% standard, I took the badges and wiper off of the rear, imo I don't think that I did too bad, however my only issue is that there is still some serious residue left from the edges of the badges. I'm assuming it's grime and dirt gathered over a grand total of 15 years untouched.

She also has an entire Honda service history and she is due for a service, I'm going to take her in for her 15th year service this week or next.

I'm also picking up some D2 Coilovers for her this evening so I'll have her sat on the floor until my plans can get underway properly.

My plans for the car currently;
A B series conversion (I'm not sure if I go for a 1.6 or a 1.8 this is something I'll decide as it gets closer to the time, will also be running uprated internals)
Pre-facelift 9 bumpers, and skirts all of the way around
I'm currently unsure about wheels... It's a difficult colour to work with but my favourite wheels are Regamaster Evo's so I'll be investing in a set of those
Front and rear brake conversion off of an ITR, with spoon calipers (including rotors, 5 stud ftw!)
Spoon Carbon duck bill
Spoon Carbon front splitter
A quick release bonnet, because race car
Purple tow hook (same shade as the d2's)
Purple tow strap (as above)
Stripped interior resprayed in starlight black
Black DC2 recaros
Takata harnesses
X brace
Harness bar
Flocked black dash, centre console and door cards
Seam welding everywhere
Bay will be resprayed in CW (I think it will stand out really nice against the colour)
WIRE TUCK!
Uprating my steering rack
Different subframe
Full spoon exhaust system
My arches welded and chopped (there's some minor bubbling and we all know what that means)
Buddyclub p1 racing arms
ASR rear anti-roll bar
Uprated front anti-roll bar
New running gear all of the way round
A re-spray in the same colour

It is going to be a very long project, currently building my shopping list up.

As always comments and criticism is welcome, I'm not sure if my plan list will ever be complete so I'll probably keep adding to it, but that's what I've got so far guys! :D

Some great plans there. Only thing I don't like is the duck bill :(. Good luck all the same!

Thanks man. I don't think a lot of people will to be honest with you, but that list is subject to change so if I go off the idea things will change. I've never seen a duck bill on an ej/ek shape civic, I'll have a ganders! :)

Spoon duckbills are cool shouldn't matter what other people think dude, plans sound good hope it all goes well :))

Nice car mate, I have just bought one very similar.
Try some tardis or nail varnish on your badge marks worked a treat on mine.

Goodluck with it well wear! :)

Thanks buddy! :)

Good Luck man i wish you have a perfect project ;)

I thank you kindly sir.

What's tardis? Nail Varnish remover? Won't that damage my paint?

Quick update for you all. I've been in touch with a Honda breaker from Manchester called Naz.

I've decided on the engine I want to drop into my bay. I'll be dropping a b18c4 in the bay from an MB6, I've got a price for a conversion. The job lot is gonna cost me around £1050, but that includes my engine, loom, driveshafts, s4c lsd gearbox, mounts, front and rear hubs, 282mm calipers, 262 calipers, the hand brake cable and a 1" servo.

My insurance runs out in december so I will be declaring the car off road and starting the work on the car then.

I genuinely didn't expect things to move as quick as they are but these things happen. If any of you wanna get in touch with the guy that's supplied me with the parts I'm more than happy to give you his number.

Welcome your plans sound really nice :) you love spoon parts like i do, got the lip, spoiler and mirrors on my jordan :D Nail varnish remover is amazing will move anything but make sure you wash it off well otherwise it'll act like paint stripper :)

I <3 Spoon. Have you seen the video of them running a B series to 11000rpm? It's ******* amazing. I want all those goodies. I will have to try nail varnish remover then, thanks man! :D

So I haven't really updated this for quite some time. For a few reasons; 1)I crashed my Honda, and 2)Uni has had me bogged down pretty much up until now.

I had a minor traffic bump that absolutely destroyed my front end. I'd literally just got the car back as well. I had some issues with a set of D2 Coilovers and had to also wait for Lower Control Arm shock mounting bushes from Powerflex.

This is what the car looked like when I got it back...

Was making a drive up to Manchester, I was sat in the line of traffic and I guess it was down to me not paying attention to how close I was to the guy in front. Then this happened....

Should see the other guys car... 3 scratches in his bumper and he wanted to go through insurance. I was really mad, not at him, more at myself for letting it happen but **** happens, learned from my mistakes though.

The other weekend me and a few of the lads started stripping my front end down so I could start rebuilding the car and get it back on the road. I probably won't have it back on the road for a while yet, here's what she looks like now...

And before I put her to bed for a few months...

I've had a few ideas of what I should do with her, I'm definitely re-building her I'm just thinking of the best way to go about it. I do intend to put a b series in her so I might see if I can get hold of a VTI and swap everything over to start off with and go from there... Next job as soon as I can get hold of an engine crane is;
engine out
bay stripped
bay cleaned, sanded and prepped
spraying the bay cadbury purple! ;)

All comments and criticism welcome! :)

I never quite know why I leave it so long from post to post, anyway, I have a minor update.

I bought a donor car to fix my EJ9, I mainly bought the donor for the entire front end and nothing more, at £200 I couldn't complain. It's a silver EJ9 that's had a few "modifications" but it hasn't really been looked after and it makes me sad to see a Honda in the state that it's in.

Anyway I've stripped the full front end down, and have been doing some research into stripping the slam panel, anyone got any other ideas or know how it's actually done? :) I have a brief understanding but I need to know more before I take it off. Once it's off I'll be taking the other car to a body shop and having it fitted properly, the one thing that I don't know how to do is weld. I also learned that the entire chassis comes apart pretty easily! :')

Any help from you guys would be much appreciated. I've had some new ideas too, stay tuned!
