Hi guys, im a newbie to the civic forums, I have previously owned 2 ek's, a red facelift 1.4 and an EBP Facelift coupe D16Z6 Turbo, but never bothered joining.
Was at the linwood meet and yous all seemed a nice bunch so thought I would join up and build my progress thread.
My old ej9:
My Turbo'd coupe
My lastest car was a 1.4 16v converted white 6n polo that I bought with a horrible kit and blue rear lights lol.
Which after a few very simple basic changes it ended up looking a lot more acceptable.
Anyways I bought this Thunder Grey ej9 back in March for £400 plus an ipad 1. I had been looking for this colour for a while as I haven't seen many of these around my area.
It was completely standard with 127k on the clock, 2 previous owners and 16 Honda stamps in the service history, one for every year.
After about I week I bought my first mod, a set of mini one alloys in white, I didn't think they suited it but were a bargain at £50 with 4 great Pirelli tyres.
So after realising these just looked stupid I sold them on for £100 and got a set of rota grid reps for £40 and got given a set of coilover sleeves.
Again I didn't think these suited it so they were sold on for £80 and rolled on the standard 13's for a while.
After waiting 2 weeks for a cheap set of alloys these came up on gumtree for £50. I didn't know the brand or anything, I just tried them on and thought they suited it so I was happy, they were very lightweight too. I also tilted the spoiler.
Next up was to get rid of the old and tired plates for fresh import ones.
I picked up a laguna splitter to add the front, my original idea was to fit ek9 splitters but the car is run quite low and the ek9 wouldn't last that long around my area, I think the laguna is a great add on to cars that are really low as the laguna is rubber so just folds up when it hits the ground. I also had a problem with my clutch slipping when the car was warm, but when the temp was cool it wouldn't slip, it puzzled me so RyanSi replaced my slave cylinder as mine was leaking but that didn't fix it, ryan had a spare d16 clutch lying around so he said he wouldn change it and see if that was the problem rather than buying a brand new clutch. Once the old clutch was removed it turned out to be a lot smaller than what was meant to be fitted, the d16 one was fitted and the problem disappeared. Some pictures up at ryans.
I then got offered a white ej9 1.4 for £300, it had genuine buddyclub P1 alloys, Tanabe PRO-X Coilovers, Stage 1 Clutch, EK9 Grill, Front camber arms, tegiwa rear tie bar, EK9 rear lip, Full Vti interior (dash, carpet, door cards) minus front seats, Facelift rear lights. Full stainless exhaust, 10 Months Mot, 1 Months Tax, 110k, bodywork was pretty rough.
