My B20 EK9 (Now 250bhp+)

expect a wait - for example- mine got in due to a cancellation and its been there months.. they have 2 b18 turbo's to finish before they reassemble mine.

Yeah Daz said they are crazy busy, i sent them all the head components so they can get a head start.
So excited! haha

I believe it's a 3 month warranty, that might of changed now that DNR is now Endless Horizons. I'll ask Daz on Wednesday :)

How many miles will yours take to run in? Mine is going to need 1000 before the final tune.

Of course i'll take some pictures dude, by buddy is having a k20 put in his car as we speak so im taking pics of that too!

Daz said he does the first 200 miles, then I do with various oil changing. Starting with mineral oil.

superb!

Ok parts identified -

The engine is NOT a B20 (dunx wouldn't have known this on selling)
Its a 1.9L.

Toda pistons (Confirmed) I would say around 11.5-12:1 compression, there not huge but still got a nice comp height.

The Con rods are OEM Honda not after market, However they are stamped P72 which to the un trained eye is the Block code for B18 not B20. so i went back to the crank and identified it as a B18 crank. Which explains why it was making good power high up the revs but lowish torque for the BHP.

The motor is using Toda 84mm pistons, on B18 rods with a B18 crank, the sump is B18 baffled.

The head is an highly polished and ported Pr3 head (B16 or B18, possibly type R) the Inlet Valves are OEM honda, as are all 16 retainers, however the exhaust valves are after market, the valve springs are stock type R.

identifued the Cams almost instantly the cams are OEM Honda 98 spec DC2 cams. This i need to do more research as im unsure as to how there making the power they are, Mugen and early spoon cams were made from OEM honda blanks, so have honda markings but higher ift/duration so this may be a possibility, more research is needed,
.

I'm very impressed with the power over spec and it similiar to Zens power/torque really so impressive stuff really.

So is it a sleeved b18 block?? Or a b20 block with b18 crank and rods?? Hmm intresting

Didnt think it was possible to bore a b18 out to 84mm??

Plus 220hp with a good head and type R cams is possible on a b20 with higher CR.

Yep, it was the engine imported with dunx ek9 he took to japfest in 2010

Sorry I should have been more clear.

Does the crank or the block look like it has been machined or adapted in any way to fit the b18 crank or does it look like a dirrect bolt in fit??

P.s im not questioning the engine or its origins, im just intregued to how the b18 crank fits in, as it could be a good option for me to make a b20 revable.

I dont think Dunx would dupe you here, he must have been convinced it was a B20 to sell it so, you can always call him.

Either way it makes good figures for a mismatch of parts, sounds like your builder has not got all the answers yet, you now have options to make more power?
