My 99' CW Facelift EK9.

Sooooooooo, haven't updated this for a few years now (way overdue :().

Haven't really modified the car over the years as it's all mainly been maintaince updates. Bare with me as I try and remember what order I did these in :p

Decided to finily brighten up my engine bay as it was looking a little tired. Got the rocker cover and strut bar repainted in red winkle paint.

It would be rude not to clean other areas as they were away for painting. Removed a few brackets, gave them a soak in water and vinegar to remove the rust (worked a treat) and gave them a coat of silver paint and generally cleaned up the ending bay.

The finished look & couple of before and afters :)

Next on the list was my brakes. All pads starting a little low and my rear calipers started sticking and the handbrake was lazy. Decided to play it save and ordered OEM disk and pads all round & 2 refurbished rear calipers. (I love new shiny things) :))

Another before & after. Old calipers looking pretty tatty.

Again, I cleaned up all the calipers and gave them a few coats of smooth gold Hammerite paint.

I had an small annoying oil leak coming from my oil pump. Was tiny at first but eventually grew larger. I kept an eye on it as I needed to replace my timing belt & water pump etc so it made sense to do it all at once
.

Annoying leak.

The car looking like this...

Just to replace this....little o-ring that seals the oil pump to the block.

This pic shows the old and new seal. You can see the old one (left) looks squared off on the edges and if I pressed it inwards I would off snapped it in half it was that brittle.

But that sorted the oil leak and did a major service including the timing belt, water pump etc so was all worth it.

Time went on and I did a couple of things on my to do list. Changed my torque mounts with inserts and also my rear light seals.

So my exhaust was starting to blow in a few places. The pipes were starting to rust and I plugged them up with some quick steal for the time being untill it was happening far to often. I decided to get a custom exhaust made. Great quality exchaust. I had it on for just over a month but it was too loud for a day to day exhaust. The sensible thing to do was go back to the exhaust builder and as them to make it quieter........

Nope. I didn't go down that route. Came home one day and found a big box. What could it be?!?!?!?:run:

Decided on a brand new Fujitsubo RM01A exhaust!! :D:D:D

Got it fitted and was admired on how well made it was. The welds were stunning just the fact it was shiny and new did it for me :) I knew it was the right exhaust for me when I first drove it. Subtle sound when cruising around and sings when she's in VTEC. It's an amazing exhaust :)

That's all for now. More updates soon and I'll keep you posted :)

Ace work dude, hope you're well!

I love that exhaust, sounds so good! Dont want to get rid of mines but want something louder eventually haha

Yeh I'm good ta, hope you're all we'll.

I'll have an overly loud exhaust for sale at some point soon ;). Nah, I thought I wanted a louder exhaust when I got that custom one but one month is all I could take. This one hits all the right spots for me :)

Excellent choice of exhaust, doesn't loose power either nice n track day friendly too

Thanks :)

Girlfriend bought me some new private reg plates and I fitted them yesterday.

Dirty recess.

Clean recess.

And the new plates. R for my name, 25 for the day I was born on and I think the last 3 letters suit the car pretty well ;)

Got around to doing some more little things on my list. All cosmetic touches but it's the little things that count :p

Front and rear H badges had began to going pink again and the rear badge had a a little water mark inside the badge that always did my head in. So replaced both.

Front:

Rear:

Lower quarter stickers had been looking a little bad for some time so decided to order some Tegiwa ones and fitted them.

Really happy how close to the originals they are :)

Next was my heater control lights. I ripped one of the little orange caps that sat over the bulb and gave the amber colour. Tried a few methods but none lasted very long. After looking what felt like an age for the bulbs with the orange caps (My Honda dealer wasn't helpful for this) finally found the bulbs with the caps :D

Remember a few people couldn't get hold of them, so there's the part numbers. Bare in mind they took around 6 weeks to arrive.

And finally (for now) after seeing @B16Swt do his base plate in gloss black, I decided to do the same :D

I used 3M gloss wrap as I didn't trust myself to get an even finish with paint. Really happy how it's tuned out and it's been holding out well in the weather so far.

Still a few little things to address so I'll keep you posted as I go.
