Howdy all

Been wanting to put up a thread like this for a while now, but been a bit embarrassed due to the fact that the cars not exactly how I want it in my eyes yet.

So here is the story of my EK9, from when I got it to where it is now.. forewarning on the front bumper :| (PS am looking for some OEM items, so if u have n want to sell please let me know!)

I got the car in Feb 2012, its been a lifelong dream to own an EK9 and since they are extremely rare in South Africa, the import laws are tremendously strict and the cost to legally get one into the country was mildly crazy, so after 7 years of yearning and finding out how to get one I eventually had one in my hands and in my driveway.

It came from Japan with Advan RG's
Cusco Half Cage
Rays Lugnuts
Jasma Racing Exhaust with a JDM hole in the mid pipe
Some lowering springs that made the car almost undriveable on our local roads
Slotted Disks and some uprated Pads

Be easy, shes a work in progress :)

Here are a few snaps of the car the day I collected her

I wasnt a big fan of the CWest front bumper so I started trying to find an OEM frint bumper lip and grille, which became quite a pain. The local Honda dealerships wanted ridiculous money for unpainted items. So i sadly opted to find a non original item, which turned out to be a very bad plan.

It had a bigger crash bar on the front which caused the non original parts to not fit

I tried to fit my friends OEM front bumper lip and grille and the outcome was very different

Currently the car stands like this with the non oem parts :(

I managed to source some OEM Rims that just need some refurbing

My ultimate goal is to get the car back to OEM state cosmetically.
To make the car a fun track toy im planning on making it a B18C with some BC coilovers, refurbing the underside with an energy bushing kit and making it an overall fun daily / track toy

Very nice mate, it's nice to have your dream car one day, good luck with it

Ive seen much worst! looks nice mate :]

bit weird having that front crash bar, didnt think the ek9s came with them?

For an aftermarket bumper that seems to fit pretty good. The advan wheels on it are sweet looking but i know what ya mean by the oem look. that'll satisfy ya for a while before ya get sick of it an feel like a change again :nice:

Thanks for the kind words guys! :)
Was thinking OEM rims for when the cars being used around town and such and using the Advans for the track.

Well the crash bar had me baffled for a while, my friends EK9 has a crash bar but completely different and alot smaller in construction, it seems the later spec 1998 models came with the crash bars that were used on the facelift versions but havent found any solid evidence or proof to support that theory.

Had some time on my side today so decided to give the EK9 a solid wash and clean, one thing lead to another and the camera came out to play.

Here are a few random snaps I took while cleaning the car.

Plans sound good and this looks like a fun project.
C-West bumper isn't that bad either, I've seen quite a few cars pull it off.

But of course it does look better with the C-West side skirts.

Slowly but surely getting my car how I want it to look, will probably send her in for a complete respray with new stickers and badges in the next month or 2.

And a quick engine bay snap
