Mugen Intake Install


I was aware that the airbox rattling and vibration could be an issue so I had some rubber spacers and nylon washers handy in case.

I never needed to fit them fortunately.
 
Was yours new or 2nd hand Zen? can't see the reflective plate that should sit above the bottom of the trumpet. Maybe it's that that's rattling on mine.

I'll let you know for sure when mine's properly setup. Certainly feels like it pulls better and makes an awesome noise:D

i'm fairly sure theres one in the twinloop instructions i've been meaning to send you for the last 6 months! i cant check though cus its all sealed up ready to go. you'll have to wait and see!!! lol :nice:

If you put it in say 3rd at 15mph and floor it does it rattle? I'm gonna take it apart tomorrow and try and add some pads to whatever its hitting. I'm pretty sure it's rubbing against the bottom rad hose too which isnt good..

hmm dont see why it would be next to a rad hose u sure u have got it fitted rite. i think it should run down the hole where the std air box pipe goes down behind the bumper i mite be wrong tho.

It's 100% fitted correctly, it doesn't go down that hole.

There isn't one. If you mean splash guard then yes, everythings fitted in place.

I have just learned that my rear engine mount's dead so i'm hoping a new mount will eradicate all rattles:)

I had that air intake on mine and its ****!!! :nono: You bearly hear vtec aswell as being dangerous to suck up water... it just looks nice.. Trust me take it off and just leave the filter and velocity stack. you'll get a sweeter vtec note and your car will breath easier :nice: I know its mugen and Im sorry but its the truth i dont care what anybody else says they just trying to justify paying for it its ****ing ****! Does anybody want to buy a mugen air intake? ha ha!

I took my Mugen intake off over the weekend with the intention to sell it and fund some new parts for my car.:clap:

The standard airbox & resonator combination to my suprise was noticably worse which is strange as I'd never really noticed much difference from switching from oem to mugen while my car was relatively standard. The car really felt strangled with the oem airbox though now.

Since fitting the mugen airbox I have now got a full mugen exhaust with highflow cat and 5Zigen header and I can only assume all of these components combined with the mugen Intake make my car feel how it is today being much more lively and responsive.

Just thought I'd add these comments as some people do not rate the mugen airbox but for me its a quality piece of kit that I'm now realising is expensive....because it's the best.:nice: oh ...and I've put it back on.:)
 
well to add intake performed well in track too!! :nice:

i recently fitted the itr t/b 62mm aswell, you dont notice a big diff... tho sure replacing the mugen intake and itr t/b for OEM ones would b noticeable...

Does anybody know if a CTR Mugen Intake will fit a 93 EG w/ B16 Swap?
5SPD or AUTO Transmission*
 
do you know anywhere that confirms this? i have the ek9 intake and it doesnt fit my eg:nono:
