Since the forum software ek9.org is running is obsolete, I'm planning (based on your feedback) on moving on to Xenforo, which has the ability to integrate with facebook / social media and is "mobile" ready.

Do you guys have any opinions? have you ever used a forum with xenforo installed?

Thank you for your feedback! :secret:

Is UK Starlet Owners forum ran on Xenforo?

If so then I use that sometimes, seems quite good and being "mobile" ready is also a good point :nice:

Suppose people may not like a change to start with but we will all get used to it eventually!

Yes, its mobile ready and has a lot of options to integrate the forum with facebook, twitter ...

The forum software we are running now, no longer has support or updates! :nerv:

UK Starlet forum runs on ipb

Xenforo interface is like this:

When will the changes take place? I actually prefer it the way it is. As it has like the newsfeed style of home page.

The current format, IMO, I prefer it more than any other format.

But you're the boss lol. If there are glitches that need to be sorted out then I guess it's time for a wee change

Thats why I want your feedback! lol

The problem is that the curent forum software is obsolete and is not mobile ready :nerv:

I see :)

I like the idea of it being "mobile" but I also like the style of this forum as Ally said. Probably just because I am used to it.

You are the boss, if you feel it will better the forum with updates/support and mobile then go for it I say!

I know nothing about these things, I'm just a user. How customisable is the new platform? I really like the news feed main (home) page too, and I think I would miss that. I find the current lay out very easy to navigate, much easier than many other forums. Also the integrated google search bar is very handy as it is often more accurate/easier to use than the forum search tool. Whatever you do I'm sure people will get used to it. Thanks for the hard work rvm!

EDIT: Also, I have no issues what so ever viewing the forum on my mobile, so what do you mean by Xenforo being mobile ready?

The fact Google search intergrates at the moment is amazing.

Type in ek9 followed by your issue throttle position sensor, and straight away you get the results found on this forum

Ah! I thought you were actually going to move it onto the new system. My thoughts were, "oh the big boss has made his decision"

Well, since no one really uses it.. IMO that's what stands out from the other forums. The home page for a start is prob the best thing we have compared to other forums because they don't have that.

It's nice and simple as it is, and I don't think we need a mobile format. It loads dead quick on my phone as quick as it would on the laptop. Same format, so it can easily be navigated

As Ashy and Marek mentioned, it's integrated with google so that's another plus.

Yes change is good, but this oldie is a goldie.. just like our EK9s

The only thing I would probably change are thoes Christmas lights lol. it's past the 12 days :p

Basically the website will fit into your mobile screen. I'm assuming you will have zoom in etc to read a thread? I prefer it that way though as I'm used to it anyway.

I'd say there should be a voting panel just to give it a fair chance.

I agree with the above, the current format/system looks much better and is easier to use. The newsfeed home being the standout. It's also unique in the sense that most other forums use xenforo or similar.
A vote or pole could be a good option when it comes to deciding.

I used to be on aoc a few months back, it uses xenforo and is really good, pretty much the same layout as this I thought, im not very smart when it comes to computers and what not so they are probably very different haha, but I found both easy to navigate etc,

I like the forum the way it is, user friendly and easy to use.
Is there a requirement to change?

Correct, new design standard are now based on a "responsive design" which re-sizes the webpage to the screen resolution of your device you're using to browse :nice:

:bump: for more feedback :D

I like the current format but having a mobile version of the forum would be pretty handy!

Thank you guys for your feedback, I think I'll start a pole soon :)

I really like the platform as it is on a computer. However it is a bit of a pain in the arse on a mobile.
