maybe is it plug on del sol engine thats not on mine and not used if so were is my map sensor plug i no its plugged in there in pic but that was TPS sensor plug its in its right spot now am missing map sensor plug the wires arent there either. any ideas on this any help welcome :thanks: sorry for the long rant but ive been working on this car awhile now and really want to get it going

That green plug that's right beside the dizzy is the vtec solenoid plug... Other then that you should Check if the engine light is on here's how you check the cel without a obd2 scan tool..

Also check to see If you plugged the map sensor with the correct plug.. Since there both the same plugs map/tps you can easily screw up.. If you have them hooked up wrong car will run but stall when you accelerate...

well it could be your iacv valve? for the iacv valve for obd2a you have to repin it from the ecu...so your using a obd2a ecu w/obd1 engine lo see if your clusters engine light bulb isnt burnt out...also check to see if you have a vacuum leak? if it starts up.. put your hand in front of the throttle body and see if the car shuts off.

ok so i swapped the engine loom back to the obd2a one and it starts alright now but it still idles rough and cuts out when i try to rev it.It does cut out when i put my hand in front of T/B and couldnt see any leaks i sprayed carb cleaner to check for them. any other ideas what to look for or try out ??

This part sounds like the IACV needing some cleaning out.

Did that car have map sensor mounted to firewall on old engine? If so there is seperate short loom for map sensor just run a vac pipe off manifold to the map sensor on firewall and it should run fine or re-route wiring and connect to map sensor located on TB.

The plug that's left is for the vtec solenoid oil pressure sensor. Most of the OBD1 engines have this. On B18c4 engine the vtec solenoid does not have oil pressure. The problem that you have sounds like you connect the wrong plug to the TPS or MAP sensor. Check your wiring

alright guys got it sorted out :nice: i put a new rotor and dizzy cap on and away she went.cheers for all the replys :thanks:
