Ok guys this has been doing my head in for a while now could do with some help in eliminating the problem:
My car seems to misfire, i'm guessing it running rich as it stinks of exhaust/fuel fumes, I get black marks on the bumper near the exhaust:
So far I have replaced the following

02 sensor
Dizzy cap + Rotor arm
Checked plugs and Leads
Valve clearances adjusted

But it's not sorted the annoying problem out, here's the vid hopefully someone can help :)

Did you try oem spark plug leads? What spark plugs are you using?

Random Misfire:

Fuel pump inssufficient fuel pressure, amount of flow
Fuel line clogging, blockage, leakage
Fuel filter clogging
Fuel pressure regulator stuck open
Distributor malfunction
Ignition coil wire open, leakage
Ignition control module malfunction
Valves carbon deposit
Compression low
IAC valve malfunction
Fuel does not meet owner's manual spec., lack of fuel
VTEC system malfunction

If it was only at deceleration i would say to check your TPS but it isn't.

are you seals between rocker cover and sparkplugs ok.
what was oil consumption like
maybe your timing on the belt could have jumped a tooth

Thanks for all the reply guys, I got a feeling it's a dodgey dizzy so i'm going to try a working one and see if it solves it
The car drives fine and pulls strong apart from between 2000-3000rpm it feels a little jumpy meaning before I was able to cruise at low speeds without having to throttle it and it was smooth but now it just rocks back and forth ever so slightly not sure if that is related :(

Seem more like a failing ignitor or a failing fuel pump or fuel pump relay

I changed the plugs recently, just checked them and they have turned all black with some white powder like substance? seems as if it's running lean? does stink of exhaust fumes aswell

Can you post up pics of plugs?

All plugs or just 2?
Black plugs are results of unburn fuel and running rich.
Check if the plugs are sparking before anything.

I've tried another dizzy but still the same, getting really frustrating now :(

here's a pic of the plugs
Cylinder 4 was the only plug not to have the white powder like substance on it

I haven't checked the fuel pressure as of yet, how do I go about doing this?

Get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge and install it. Start there and might as well replace the fuel filter as well, right? This is a great starting point if pressure is suspect.

Thanks, the fuel filter was changed not so long ago... but I guess it will do no harm to replace it again

Is it possible the injectors could be faulty?

Ifs its new leave it be for the moment...the gauge will let you know if there is an issue with the filter, pump, or both.

Here is where mine is located:

Thanks mate I'll look into getting the fuel pressure tested soon and will post my findings on here.
