wel lads what sort of mpg wud i get out of a b16a?? will be doing in or around 500 miles a week in the near future and im just wondering is it a beter option to get a diesel...

If I drive my B16a sensible I get about 300 miles to a full tank, £50 to fill nowadays, but if you hit vtec enough I can see -200 miles to a tank

i will see about 240 most of the time ha
 
i did a test with £10 petrol which was roughly 2 gallons and got 60ish miles out of it but the urge to hit vtec was incredibly controlled throughout!!
 
I get a constant 31mpg from every tank in mine.
 
Interesting. If I manage to drive the B16b "normal" I get a consistent 30mpg as well. I was thinking it should do better than that, but it appears on par with you guys.
 
i do about 400 miles a week as it's 30ish miles each way to work so that's 300 guaranteed! i normally get about 280 miles from the 40 litre tank and that's with a B16b :)

it's all about smiles per gallon :nice:
 
Just buy a wee run about to get you to and from work and get your b16.

I'v got my b18 civic and a micra. £400 to buy £215 to insure and 50 mpg can't beat it :dance:. Best of both worlds.
 
On average I get 240-280 miles before I have to fill up, normally thats about 40 litres terrible lol
 
in my jordan i got around 280 miles for £50 to a tank. That was with the odd occasion of using vtec :p
 
I have an EJ9 for a run about and Im getting 45mpg on average.
 
B16A2 EK4
7,6 litre on 100 km...normal drive, with some VTEC
9-10 litre on 100 km...mostly VTEC
 
Hmmm...am I the only one that gets semi-decent mpg? If I'm travelling from Forres to Hull (450ish miles) I only have to fill up at roughly the 420 mile mark (according to the tripmeter thing). But then saying that...I do sit at a constant 50-60 mph across the night/early hours to get that...otherwise it'd be about 250-300 miles (depending on speed of course).

Oh and vtec...roughly 180 miles :D
 
you wont drive a b16a normal. get a diesel or you will be raping your pocket.
 
some thing said on here are a bit silly for one petty is quite a bit cheaper than derv, so if you not doing 400+ miles on a motor way no point have 2 cars just use the civic as even if you get 300+ miles out of a full tank thats dam good for a 185bhp car, i sadly have a 350z that gives me 400 miles to a tank if iam lucky and its cost £90+ to fill and thats motor way driveing lol i was thinking of getting a ek9 for a good mileage plus fun car lol
