Lucky escape from bein banned

In ireland if your caught doin over 160kmh(100mph) its an automatic ban. I was out with the girlfriend tonight, in my ctr which has been off the road the last 3 n a half weeks due to the clutch hangin together. well i came onto this road n the limit is 100kmh, the naas road for those of u know it from tallaght. i started motorin away, ended up doin 190 kmh, after a minute or two i stopped so see a car flyin up behind me which happened to be the police. ah F**k is what i thought, maybe it was for some one else but it wasn't, pulled in to be shown a speed gun wit me doin 130 kmh. then he tells me he had to 130mph just to catch up wit me, yes 130 MPH. he then goes on to say i'm a lunatic n he had to do it for at least 2 mins to catch up wit me so he knew well what speed i was doin. then he brings my attention to me not having road tax which your car can be takin off you for.. I ended up with a 120 fine n 2 penalty points!!! its better than a ban...

glad you did get banned theo, last xmas eve for me, talking to my girlfriend didnt realise ran a red light at around 20mph in town-sadly for me police car right behind saw everything, pulled me over i got new police officers on the beat so i was not getting away with nothing. 3 points £60 fine bye bye clean lics, marry xmas indeed :(
 
yeah man that was lucky,i got caught doing 110mph in my rev3 mr2 turbo last year,i got a 4 month ban!
 
What is a ban? I'm a yank and we either get our car impounded or our license suspended.
 
yea im curious about that too..im in the states and its kind of funny your worst penalty is a ban lol seems like when your a kid and you cant use the slide or something cause you did something bad lol..We get our license taken away or suspended, then you have to go to defensive driving classes to get it back. :)
 
a ban is when they take your licence from you for whatever period of time the judge says,in the uk if it was a really bad offence they may also make you resit your test,its much the same as america guys.

ya he was luck alrite...i got caught racing last febuary was comin up the motorway racin a nissan vzr was plowin along in front of him like he was nothin comin up to the roundabout fast but nothin the R couldn handle next minute the cops pull off the roundabout blockin the road wit the sirens on i jam on my brakes vzr nearly hits cop car i get dragged out of my car by the cop told i was nothin but a trouble maker an that i could have killed other road users(the road was empty!!)an that id be gettin a summons to court an be gettin banned from drivin...an i never heard anythin since:D(they had no evidence to prove i was racin or speedin)
 
Holy crap you got lucky. I got my ass chewed out by a cop for only only hitting 65MPH in a 40 zone. I wasn't clocked, rather I was caught drag racing. He sounded pissed but was nice enough to let me off with a warning. Only other time for being pulled over was my radio being too loud.....right in front of my damn house and my mom saw it all. He was nice too and just told me turn down my radio and let me go.

I amazed all the times I've broken 100MPH (fastest I've done is 115) that I've never been caught and I get pulled over for 2 stupid things like that. Of course I no longer street race after a fellow TennSpeed member was killed in a street racing accident.....an hour after I was pulled over for it.
 
I got my ek4 taken off me within 4 hours of it being on the road for overtaken a squad car off the clock!!i taut furk it he aint goin to catch up with me so i kept it lit until i met my destiny as i had to slow down for a furking toll bridge...he litarly took me and the keys out of the car stuffed me in the back of the mondeo and read me the act. at the time i had no tax insurance or nct as the car was only fresh and he told me i pased him at atleast a 100mph (i knew it was more) but he said he was going to go easy on me?? he said he'd put me down for doing 150kmh (so i can keep me licence) and fine me for a rake load of thing and furked me out at the toll brige and conviscate me car. he said i wasnt getting it back until i produced all documents(which would take a month useually) but when your going to mess with the law ya have to know how to play dirty...i went down with a tow truck the next day and collected wat was my as the law only states that the car cant be drivin out of the pound without tax and insurance!!!

i also never heard of anything about the speeding and all i got was 2 fine's for not desplaying tax and not desplaying insurance!!!

personally i think that was also lucky!!

u were very lucky m8...was it an unmarked mondeo or a marked one???u from ireland??
 
please note that unless the police have any evidence then you are completley innocent, that also means even if they see you doing over 100mph and have no evidence then they have nothing and i mean it doesnt matter what they say, AS LONG AS YOU DONT ADMIT IT you may look like an absolute bare faced liar but better that than them getting one up on you!

I got stopped doing 50 in a 30 i think thats about 4 points and a 100 fine, however they never had there camera turned on and i said i was only doing 34mph, They were saying how they were gonna ban me and crush my car and do all that bollox but its all crap they had nothing and that was more than a year ago, still havent heard ne thing, according to the traffic sergeant that is my neighbour you are allowed 10% plus 2mph on the speed limit, well thats what the cameras are callibirated at, theres so many technacalities to it you could get away with most speeding fines im sure so long as you know what your doing haha!
 
Man, crazy stuff here... my friend got busted doing 180kmph(112mph) in a 40kmph(24mph) zone. :lol: got caught on camera, next day 3-4 cops cars came outside his workplace and busted him like he did drugs...got his face shoved onto the cops bonnet and handcuffed him :lol: he never saw his car ever again.

Thats just pretty mild though... because another time he was on TV for a 4 hour chase on a motorbike with a friend on his back running all over at night... He said he was certain that he saw about 30 cop cars when he looked back from the chase, went pass many road blocks, and passed a standing cop at 200kmph, he hid in a factory luckily when he ran out of fuel... he found out his house was actually around the corner... :lol: They never caught him.

Spoke to him a while ago, he bought a STI and just can't help speeding. Still does it and last time was in jail, but don't know what happended to him now.

the same thing happened to me but i was doin 70mph in a 30mph zone an the drug squad were behind me in an unmarked car they followed me for ages before they pulled me an he said wat speed were u doin i said 30 he said thats lies i he was doin 50 to try keep up wit me an i said u werent doin a good job then...then he got thick wit me an drug searched my car an started askin me why i had so many clocks in my car(2gauges and an apexi rsm) they found nothin tho cos i dont do the drug thing an even if i wanted to i couldn afford to i put all my money into my 9 an my coupe.

i know we all do it but there are reason why we should stick to the speed limits and maybe there is a lesson to be learned by us all

ya there is a black mondeo in galway wit no aerials or anythin on it either the gards are gettin too sneaky ya could be givin it a rip out the dualers an ud never no wat they would be drivin...they also have an unmarked volvo an land cruiser down here too...a guy i no wit a teg R took a chase from the volvo an said it was quick enuf in a straight line but nothin for the R in the bends...he took the plates off the R an went lookin for them hahaha:naughty:
 
If they can get you to admit it your aswell telling them exactly the speed u were going, if they cant prove it they have jack ****! They are chancers, so why shouldnt we be??? ;) ;) ;)
 
i cant get over how lucky you guys are i was in my mates Renault 5 Turbo and the police pulled us and gave him a £60 spot fine and 3 points for having a wobbly battery, i know it has to be secure but that is harsh in my opinion,

i got a spot fine of £60 when i took a right turn a t a mandatory left, it was 2am and no one was about so i thought "arrr stuff it" and turned, looked behind and it was a copper "oops"

the police are bad for spot checking around my area, it is because many people have no MOT etc. it is the city centre of Birmingham that they are hot on but on out outskirts where i am from it is not to bad,

I think god must favour the wonder that this the HONDA breed because you lot have got off lightly, we are just meant to be on the road lol
