Have had a good search about and have seen mixed answers but none specifically on what I'm after.

I'm looking at removing the front lower torque mount for the gearbox as its right in the way of my intake setup. I know its best to up-rate the main engine mounts before considering removing but I only want to remove the one.

Would I be able to get away with a torque damper or possibly filling the mounts, until I can get my hands on some new up-rated mounts?

Current OEM mounts seem to be in good order but are at least 3 years old so may want changing for fresh before I do anything else.

Any advice is greatly appreciated :))

Why don't you get some poly inserts, this will allow for the removal of the torque mount with no issues for the meantime before upgrading to hassport or inovits!

i would fill the mounts with polyurethane, cheaper than buying new inserts and just as good or better.

Thanks guys. Was thinking of filling them with either a proper poly insert or just super scrimping for now and filling with polyurethane.

This should be enough then? Would I need to fill all 3 main mounts just to be sure and can they be done in situ?

Wouldnt say it's scrimping, I filled all my mounts.. Well except the timing belt side mount since that is solid rubber. Worked very effectively with just 2 tubes of tiger seal which is polyurethane.

Yes tiger seal is great stuff have used it before to keep some body work in place :))

Will go for this option then I think as it seems the quickest way to get them filled without having to wait for parts to arrive.

Thanks everyone :nice:
