Last Sunday was my 23rd birthday and a few weeks earlier my girlfriend asked me what I'd like so I had a look around on the net. Ever since I got the car last year I'd been searching for a scale model of an EK9, the only thing I could find was either the tiny 1/72 scale yellow models from the Initial D series or the Fujimi 1/24 plastic model kits, neither of which really fitted the bill. Then I discovered that Hi-Story in Japan was to launch a new 1/43 scale resin model of a facelift, available from 12 February 2011. I was dead chuffed and as soon as they started to show up on eBay for pre-orders I knew exactly what I wanted 
Available in white, yellow, black or silver its an awesome model, the detail is epic! I do have two observations though; even though it's a facelift it has pre-facelift rear lights and the decal they've used for the centre console is that of a pre-facelift too, but either way, it's a great gift and its now sitting in pride of place on my 1/43 model shelf in my room.
