recently my ek9 carpet on the drivers side footwell has been wringing wet just cleaned it up today but havent got a clue were the water is getting in. it poured water over the windscreen but nothing happened ? i read the thread below and seen its a common problem on the passenger side coming down by the ecu, but is it common on drivers side any help would be brilliant ..

I had this problem with my EJ9 mate, is it most wet near the latch for the boot and petrol cap? Also does it go to the rear at all?
I had a dent in my door so I got a new door and never been wet again, so I am led to believe it was the window seal mate
 
I have this slightly in the teg, may or may not be the same problem, but in mine the water is getting around the roof lining at the far end on the drivers side, from there it is running down the side of the plastic next to the rear quarter window, then running all the way down from there to under the carpet and into the drivers footwell.

Mine's isn't totally wringing wet but it still get's damp.
 
check the back make sure its not coming in the usual places like the rear lights and vents when i got mine the front carpets were damp but it was coming forward from the boot if its coming down the bulkhead you can sometimes find stains. Otherwise look for cracks in seam sealer between panels sometimes a very small crack in the paint and sealer can be the cause

I would have thought that the tail light water would sit in the spare wheel well and not make its way that far forward, especially as only the front passenger section is wet (on my car).

was it the window seal on your drivers door mate or front or rear window ?
