When I have my car in full right lock and traveling at about 15mph I hear
a loud metal on metal knocking noise coming from the steering. I have checked
the CV joint and there are no tears in the CV boot. Is these anything else it could be?

defo sounds like the cv joints, it dont need to be leaking grease to be broken, also check your lower arm bushes, if their knackered you can get knocking noises too, but when in doubt best to get it checked by a mechanic

Already had it checked by my mechanic and he couldn't see any problem.
I think it's time I found a new mechanic!!!

i think you could be right lol, unless your diff is causing some issues but i aint sure it would be that, strange....

Sounds like your drive could be worn had that problem with my eg6 civic

boots do not need to be torn for your axles to knock, my axles where totally destroyed but the boots looked brand new. change both axles.

Yupp. Same thing happened to me on my old 200sx i bought new cv boots and turned out the stock ones were fine so i just had to replace both axles.

@blinx...i like your signature. Haha.

does the noise happen when you steer both ways.if yes drive at about 30 mph and put it in neutral and then turn.if theres no noise it sounds like the lsd.:(
