Km/h showing on the dash

So my 9 is touching down in the UK next week and I am dead excited!!

I have been looking up all the little things that I want done as you do.

I released that the import company will change the speedo to show MPH instead of KMH and to make the speedo read correctly they black out the K of KM/H to show M/H.

I wish to keep the car as original as possible so was wondering if it will pass mot if the dash is showing KM/H underneath but the speedo displays your speed in MPH?

anyone have any insight to this for me please :)
 
My old 9 was in kmh, not going to fail an mot for that.
 
Can you not ask them to just leave the car in km/h? My ek9 wasnt changed and passed mot's no problem, plus i prefered it like that, just get wee tabs with 30 40 50 60 70 and stick them to ur cluster if you cant work out the mph speed in km
 
Tell the import company dont touch it itl be grand in kph
 
Mines in KMs too, you get used to it easily.

No questions about mileage transfer either.
 
KPH isn't an issue with the MOT, I even asked them to switch it to KPH on the sheet so people didn't get confused about the mileage.

I've had mind in KPH since I got mine. I printed out a little converter and stuck it to my right vent for a short while then I got used to the readings.
 
My old GT still had kph clocks and was ok for MOTs. Just try to remember 50kph=30mph and 100kph=60mph well 62 Iif were nit picking. And been as we never speed on public highways if you hit 180kph you may be going a tad too fast ;-)

I dono if I have confused myself, the speedo reads in mph but the bit underneath will still state kmh is that ok :S sorry :)
 
Yeah that will be OK.

They usually just pop a sticker over the k anyway.
 
My car still counts in K's & has been since 09 so there won't be any MOT problem Plus after a few days driving you don't notice that it's not in mph plus it's 'JDM Yo'!
