Been reading about these and seem very good value for money. I have done a search on google and can't find any suppliers.

Can you guys help?

I'll try Funky Power.

Turtle said that he has not got any in..not worth it yet and that he is the only UK authorised supplier?

EDIT:

Just checked Funky and the only have the super light weight at 4kg. I wanted the 4.4kg.

I'll try emailing them.

Yer for our cars a lighter one is best only time you would prefer a heavier one is if your towing alot.

Becuase when you need the torque to tow, the engine will drop off revs quickly due to the less mass.

i've got an ACT 5.5kg on mine, bought it from funky power, worn in now, defiantly feel the difference !

The 4.4 kg has more mass based towards the outer edge to help inertia.

I have the 4.4kg and its absolutly lovely.

I haven't noticed a problem with hill starts or traffic. The thing is our Hondas don't have much torque anyway so majority of the time you gas it up to pull away. Even then i can still pull away on tick over no worries.

If i was doing it again i would have bought the 4kg. But they where out of stock so opted for the 4.4kg. I love it heel and toe is also easier for matching RPM.

Just avoid Aluminium ones with a steel chromoly attachment they can rip off. Herd a couple of horror stories.

HTH

Hmmm.

Thanks for the info.

What do you think about the Fidanza ones? They are about 3.7kg or so I believe so even lighter!

They seem to be pretty cheap too.

Steel one i would say be fine but personally wouldn't buy an alumiuim one.

fidanza aluminium flywheels are suppoesed to be 3.2 kg

I bought one today and weighed it for fun

weighed in at 3.336 kg

Babyface on here was running one i think, pm him for details and experiances, ;)

ive run act prolite for many years but tbh if done again id have gone for streetlite version which is about 4.4 kg or some brand around that weight (imho better for daily driver)

you want to upgrade your clutch same time u replace the fly... i went for an Excedy clutch and flywheel 4.4

already mentioned above, too light is better for rev speed tho lose on torque.

i have this super karui lightened flywheel (4kgs)
and as ian said, h/t technique benefits as revs go up and down faster when applying throttle to rev match.
no problems with hill starts etc at all

you DO NOT LOSE TORQUE.

what everybody refers to as torque loss is actually INERTIA.

HIGH inertia is what one would experience when revs do NOT drop as quickly between upshifts (this is also commonly described as stored energy). It can also be experienced with dragging the clutch in 1st gear without applying the throttle. With a heavier HIGH inertia flywheel, the car is easier to get moving without stalling.

With a lighter LOW INERTIA flywheel, revs drop quicker and the car can sometimes be more difficult to manage in 1st and reverse...this is NOT the same as torque loss.

I have the Karui 4.4Kg flywheel (brought from Brian at Turtle - SUPERBLY HELPFUL!) matched with an Exedy Stage 1 clutch. Its a great combo for when you are giving it the beans, and not too bad for daily driving. If I was buying again I would go for the 4 or 4.4kg flywheel and an OEM clutch.
I went for the stage one as I was planning a Turbo conversion but my plans changed so I'm left with a clutch thats able to take the abuse but tires your leg after 2 mins in traffic :D

Thanks guys.

I have purchased a flywheel and I know which clutch setup I am going for. All will be revealed on my thread and blog shortly.
